One thing that is also relevant to not living together and not getting divorced is religion. If it’s against cultural or religious rules to live together before marriage, it’s also likely an issue to get divorced.

Re: Nick. Maybe I’m revealing identifying info about where I’m from, but I met him at a dive with a group of his buddies when I was out for a girls night (pre pandemic). He ended up going out with a friend of mine (still follows her on Instagram) and ditched her in a bad part of town while she was waiting for her Uber (that she ordered herself, he didn’t pay for it or ensure she got home safely).

Yes, it’s awful. In a large city, there’s a surprising amount of cheating men. Maybe they are smug enough to think that if they get caught, their wives will stay. Or maybe they know and convince themselves they don’t care.

They’re designed to make you keep coming back. The selection of partners on the apps is also so poor, you might have thoughts of, “huh, if this is the best there is out there, maybe I ought to settle?” When there are options aplenty who won’t ask you for your address, presuming he can just show up around your house. That was a run-on, but only scratches the surface of the dumpster that is OLD.
