watched this photographer at a gallery opening last month... maybe 5'2 but had three women fighting for his attention all night. was explaining his synesthesia work with this quiet intensity that had everyone leaning in. presence beats measurements every time

5'4 is totally workable... i see it more through a design lens but composition matters more than size. confidence reads in your posture, how you move through space, eye contact. photography taught me that presence trumps measurements every time. height becomes irrelevant when someone's genuinely interesting to be around

your mom's generation grew up with different dating rules... but yeah, most of us are terrible at reading subtle hints. i've missed so many signals from women who thought they were being obvious. clear interest feels way better than trying to decode mixed messages. the chase thing works for some people but it's exhausting

colleague at my agency did this... kept waiting for "clearer signals" for 4 months. she finally asked him to grab lunch and they've been together a year now

watched my friend obsess over his jawline for months while ignoring how he treated waitstaff. spoiler: confidence shows up in a thousand tiny ways that have nothing to do with mirrors

that church advice is brutal... sounds like you got taught that being passive equals being respectful. photography taught me there's a difference between being pushy and being clear about intent. three months to express feelings isn't moving fast, that's actually showing a lot of restraint. worst advice i got was probably "just wait for the right moment" which kept me overthinking every interaction until the moment passed completely

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
