Ehh, I don't see how that thread proves "rape culture", if anything it's kind of a big argument against it. If the story requires random anonymous characters to die just to move the plot forward, they'll likely be male. If the plot requires a tragic death that motivates the protagonists or shows how evil the villains are, the victim will be female. Similarly if the story demands random mooks get a beat down by a character to up the sense of danger or just show off how awesome the protagonist is, they will be male. It's kinda awful, I stopped watching media with female leads exactly because of that(I mean, I still do, but it's usually when someone recommends me it, obviously not all of them have this problem, but a lot do), it tends to demean and mistreat men so often, a lot of people say that there's far less stuff with female protagonists than with male ones because men are less likely to watch/read/play media with female leads, and it's not a surprise, really.

Have you ever watched matrix? 'Red pill' has become a popular phrase among cyberculture and signifies a free-thinking attitude, and a waking up from a "normal" life of sloth and ignorance. Red pills prefer the truth, no matter how gritty and painful it may be. Red pill has always been an umbrella term for the manosphere in general, though. But I agree, MRA communities, blogs, and even AVFM should stop using this term.

I don't see how a woman being uncomfortable by a "titty monster" character is any different than a man being uncomfortable for watching something like Jojo's Bizzarre Adventures, in which case, it just seems to seems to be some sort of homophobia. I can't really think of any game I've played that has a super-sexualized female character who has no personality, specially because it's pretty hard to make a character with no personality whatsoever.
