How well "be yourself" works depends a lot on who you are :) The good version of that is "don't pretend to be someone you're not". You can do that in a million ways, so don't confuse it with "do whatever comes naturally".

Do you have any friends and/or any non dating social life at all? If not, forget about getting a girlfriend, and focus on those things instead. Once you've leveled up to a real social life, it's time to focus on girlfriend. i dont like to go out Tell us more about that? In general, no important thing will come to you without sacrifices. All good things require some blood, sweat and discomfort!

You just need to show you're perfectly OK with not having sex. That's it. It can be done is more or less charming ways, of course, but as long as you do it, you have passed the test. If you get angry or sad or start pleading or arguing, you have been revealed as a loser/creep/danger, and the game is probably over. That said, there is no guarantee you'll get laid just for passing this test.
/r/seduction13/04/17 07:27 PM

You're right. I just wish people didn't call it a "shit test", as if there is something wrong with it.

Just to repeat this once more: A dance class is the place to apply the dancing. The people I know who Dance, usually go to classes, year after year. You can go dancing at Salsa clubs or whatever, and some do, but mostly it's classes. So it's not like a school where you study for years and after graduation you can finally start using your skills. It all happens at once, and you'll know very soon if it's for you or not. Sorry to harp on about this. I know I sometimes need nagging, and you seem a b…
/r/seduction31/03/17 04:03 PM

You misunderstand. This is simpler than it seems. The dance class is the situation where dancing comes up. As you learn, you also socialize with the other equally incompetent students. It's also not a huge investment. You'll know after a few sessions, at most, if this is something for you.

You seem like a hesitant fellow who would rather to nothing than risk minor failure. Having occasionally been that guy I can tell you that it a great way to throw away your life. Well I've never danced before in my life so I think I might not really be a dancing type of guy. But equally true: You might really be a dancing type of guy!

i never know to get things to become lightly sexual without feeling like i'm about to step over a boundary. I'm far from an expert myself, but I think part of the point is that you're crossing a boundary.

You should probably work up your conversation skill on friends and coworkers so you can have non awkward conversations with strangers.
/r/seduction06/11/16 05:06 AM

You need to get some kind of social circle first. Then you can level up to dating. That is just how this works. You need to learn to walk before you can run.

"Be like a professional comedian" is tough advice for many regular guys. I also struggle with the transition from "Yeah, The Hulk is Mark Ruffalo's greatest role ever!" to "So..., you wanna go fuck our brains out?". I think your advice is "talk about sex a lot", but that feels really weird. It's not something I talk about otherwise.
/r/seduction11/08/16 01:20 AM
1

but for some reason they aren't offering it to you Two opposing takes: They are offering it. How much clearer than saying you "want to fuck somebody real bad" in his presence can you get? He's so deep in the friend zone that he's just one of the girls now. Making a move could ruin everything. OP, do you actually like the company of these people? Or are you just hanging around hoping to somehow get laid? If they were guys, would you hang out? What if they were ugly?
/r/seduction16/05/16 03:08 AM
2

So they talk about sex around you. Do you do the same? Have you tried making a move with any of them? Nothing will probably happen if you wait for them to do it. Is there any of them you're especially close to? Could you confidentially ask her about this? Another way to go is to get these girls to be your wingmen-women. If they're actually your friends, they can be very helpful in getting you laid with other girls!

Masters make what they do seem simple and fun. For them it is. But it took them enormous amount of work and dedication to become masters. They had to take it very seriously to get where they are.

"Negging" is used in two ways. Insults to tear down someone's self esteem. Instead of telling a gorgeous girl she's gorgeous, which she already knows, give her some playful critique in the spirit of "We both know you're a bomb shell, but maybe this detail could use work".
/r/seduction06/01/16 11:08 PM

Thanks, that is concrete and helpful! Not everyone knows how to be normal, but I think those problems are pretty individual and... weird. Not something you can fix in a Reddit comment.

as long as you follow all of the common sense rules like isolate first, have at least some positive rapport going, don't move too fast, don't be forceful, don't be creepy/weird But how to do some of these things is what OP is asking about. "Don't move too fast" is hard to follow when you don't know how fast is regular speed. "Don't be creepy/weird" also doesn't help with understanding where the lines between creepy and normal are.
/r/seduction30/12/15 12:03 AM

I'd agree she's being rude. But you got laid, not used.
/r/seduction23/12/15 07:14 PM

Can't say I see the distinction that makes asking (1) "do you have any advice for sprinters who aren't fast?" completely wrong and (2) asking people for advice on how to become faster the completely right. They sound like small variations in phrasing to me.
/r/seduction23/12/15 02:29 AM
7

Perhaps, but just stating a goal isn't that helpful. I mean, if you're coaching a sprinter, telling him "Run faster!" or "A fast sprinter wouldn't run that slow!" probably won't help much.
/r/seduction22/12/15 08:56 PM

A self confident man wouldn't log onto reddit and ask what he should do in a situation. A confident man just does. So that's good advice for confident men. Do you have any advice for non confident men, other than "become confident"?

How well the "be yourself" tactic works depends a lot on who you actually are. Some people naturally have certain skills and can just let them loose. Others have to work hard at figuring things out and changing who they are. People are both very similar and very different...

If you do tell her, say it in a relaxed, confident way. Not like you're admitting something awful. If you're lost and confused enough it will be obvious, and it's better for everyone to "come clean". For extra credit, make a joke. "Which hole is it again?". "This seems so easy in the movies...". "OK, maybe the second time can be special". Etc.

I guess you can discover everything yourself through trial and error, but that doesn't seem very effective. Especially if you consistently fail in your interactions with women, it is probably a good idea to ask for advice and/or read a book to figure out what you're doing wrong. Sure, you can probably figure it out yourself over a few years, but maybe you can learn the same thing reading a book over a weekend! Now, if you only read and discuss, I agree that you're missing the point. Most learnin…

If you have the natural skills to do that and be successful, that is awesome for you. But not everyone has those skills or that personality. OK, your urge to show her that you're ABOVE her and she's UNDER you sounds really unhealthy, and potentially stalkery. You can't let yourself fill with rage when a woman rejects you. It's not good for your mind, and it can lead to violent actions that ruins lives. She lost interest in you, as she has every right to do. Now you both know you don't belong together. This is good. It doesn't actually come up for a while. Most sane people don't pry about that. You have 100 more urgent things to focus on. If and when it does come up, just own it. Don't be ashamed of it. Don't give a 3 hour tearful rant about how much you suffered. Treat it like any other fact.

Yeah, this is one of the annoying "remember to do the thing!" advices that never specifies what "the thing" is. If you ask, people mostly raise their voices and emphasize that the thing is very important! My guess is that it can mean casually talking about sex and sexual things with women. Many guys think this will embarrass and offend them, but (done right) it only shows that you're relaxed and comfortable with sex and women, and frees her up to also talk about it.

It's very common for guys who were clueless when they were young to look back and realize how many times girls were flirting with them, and they completely missed it. I have a bunch of those myself. It sounds like you're a bit deeper in the hole than most, and maybe there is actually no interest right now. Hard to tell from here... But the bigger point is that you're thinking about this wrong. I think it's kind of ridiculous to say that not listing my height or not standing next to an object for scale means that I'm trying to hide my height That's not what she says. But it's not all "don'ts". Ask a question about one of my photos, or better yet, make an assumption about me based on a photo and ask if its close to the truth. Ask a clever ‘would you rather’ question - this is how I always start conversations when I initiate. Ask if I’m a Tetley girl or a PG Tips girl, and tell me that our future depends on my answer.

The problem is that i've never had anyone attracted to me You don't know that. For two reasons. Women usually don't tell you they're attracted. Impractical, but true. They do often give out small hints, that you - being a rookie - will not notice. Women are attracted by men who desire them and are bold enough to show it. So it is quite possible that a woman finds you interesting because you had the guts to approach her, even though she had no interest before that. If none of them think I am wort…

I think it's more that when these shy scared nerds figure out that what they've been told is wrong, they don't know what to replace their rules with. They know they can be much more forward with women than they thought, but don't know where they actual lines are. So those lines can easily be crossed by clueless guys trying out their newfound freedom.

49 or even 50 out of 50 may reject you. But they won't all reject you viciously. That part is you scaring yourself. You won't get 49 rejections all at once. You will get only one each time you ask. You should expect a rejection each time you ask. If you only get "yes", you're asking too few people, or you're Ryan Gosling. Finally, if you get 49 rejections out of 50 attempts, it means you did get one yes. Enjoy that one!

How well "being yourself" works depends on what your self is like. I think we all start out just being ourselves, and the only people who then have to go read self help books are the ones for whom that just doesn't work, and who need to change their self one way or another. So I think that can be good advice to a friend who you know, but pretty universally bad advice in "I need help" forums on the net.
