I like ETFs. They provide a good return and don't have insane levels of risk. It's all subjective though so each person is going to have their own take on your question.

Came here to say the same thing. If she was an 8 she'd have absolutely zero issues setting multiple dates so she could cherry pick the one that seemed best. I have my doubts the tweet was about OP at all.

It's a little easier if you can find friends for specific things you like to do. This helps keep backups in case the others are busy. I have a group we only go to concerts with. Another few like Jeeps and off roading parks. Some I'll just party with, I find those people don't typically like to do anything besides get drunk all weekend and it's not really for me. I think it's always going to be the case that you're competing most for the time of the people you most want to be with and may have to…

This works great when escalating if you're food shopping, you can go back and cook which is a great time to lay more game. It's also way cheaper than taking her out to eat and you get to see if she has any home maker bones in her body.

For me personally after I let it slip that I have a side gig (manufacturing) they immediately thought I was stealing tooling and materials without any evidence. This is definitely a better way to go.

Curious if you've given him the fight club speech along with the book? The possibility is definitely there that he'll repeat some of that info to the wrong kid or even a teacher and catch absolute hell for it.

I like this advice. Maybe it's worth noting for the sake of redundancy that there's no point in bringing up fight club with them if he chooses to keep em.

I'm just not sure what women have to gain by telling the guy they're married. The hamster wheel has got to be spinning 100mph if that's their way of deflecting the blame of cheating.

All that is going to take time to fix. If you're unemployed you have too much free time making it too easy to slip. Find a job, it seriously does not matter what it is. Get in the door at mcedeez. This will give you some money, keep you focused on something, get you a little momentum, and in turn help you find something better. It's a real bitch to get a job you want when you don't have anything. You didn't say anything about a degree so I'll assume you don't have one. If that's the case find a …

I believe he's trying to say we all need to put the effort in to get the results. It might seem that OP thinks Chad T Thundercock just rolls out of bed and slays. However you could even bring up the 4 burner theory; if Chad's living at home at 26 he might only be focused on health/looking good and not have nearly the focus on work/finances that OP has.

I really do like owning my bachlor pad, but this is the only part that kills me. If I was renting I would easily be able to move within 10 minutes of all the jobs I've had but instead I'm making an hour commute. It's also a hard thing to fully explain how much it actually costs to do so, between having a decent reliable car, then gas, tires, brakes, etc. It's painful to waste the time and see all the dolla dolla bills fly out the window while you're stuck in a traffic jam for the 3rd time in a w…

The prerequisite for this to work is that they have just enough respect that they'll honor his boundaries. If they don't respect him at all then this will only make it worse and they'll see it as his ultimate insecurity.

Exactly. My old best friends wife would do it to all his friends. I didn't even realize it 'till it happened to me, I was the last one left. She would talk juuust enough shit about her mark in little bit size pieces here and there to make it happen and really get in his head. This was definitely a form of gaslighting. Seen girls try to get their man to disown all their friends. Usually a slow and well executed plan to destroy their social life and make them dependent on the woman at which point the girl has no respect left and either cheats or leaves.

I have a manufacturing job that allows me hours a day to sit on my phone. Along with reddit I've been able to complete an online college course in business and I'm getting reimbursed for it. I've also been learning other skills to get into a different industry that will almost double my pay in the next 5 years. It's not always well aligned with RP concepts but I like reading psychologytoday when I get tired of trying to find the end of Reddit.

The only living thing I truly give a shit about is my dog. Most of my family shows narcissist and sociopathic tendencies. While I do like the idea of loving people on some deep level I'm mostly unable to make it happen and I show a lot of apathy in general towards people. The 48 laws of power is definitely something worth internalizing. It won't allow you to overcome it in a "therapy" kind of way but it will let you conceal it.

Friends are only friends when it's mutually beneficial, that's no longer the case for them. You have opposing political views, a fwb that didn't pan out, and a guy you made feel insecure, which leaves nothing in it for them or you. Learn from your mistakes and hard next then find other friends.

Similar situation happened to me. I asked for a HB7s number and she declined so I just told her it was good meeting her and to have a good night and started to distance myself, no big deal. She tells me I don't have to make it so weird in a surprised tone. I could only assume she was let down in a way that I didn't want to argue with her about it.

Sounds a lot like my story. I was really into computers in high school and lost interest by time I graduated. Ended up getting into machining and have been doing that for almost 6 years now. While it can be really interesting and has some crossover to CS as far as being programming and math intensive it doesn't pay as well, the hours blow, and it's rough on the health. It's not something I'd expect most people to understand that don't know anything about manufacturing. It's no joke, these watches have the tiniest gears, springs, and other parts that have tolerances that blow anything NASA puts on their space shuttles out of the water. They also require equipment that costs over a half a million dollars to make these pieces (in the modern way).

I recently was given the opposite advise, it really struck me. It was to find something that you have no real passion or emotional connection to because you're by default going to make the most logical decisions when running this business. Obviously it can't be something you hate but doesn't have to be something you live for either. I doubt many gas station owners have a passion for any aspect of that business, however it's still profitable.

Absolutely if you're going to do things, do them well but also realize how debilitating the goal of perfection can be. You will make significantly more progress by hitting an 80-90% mark and moving on to the next goal.

What's atypical about this is that he's in a management position and cares enough about his job to be stressed over it. I'm more or less working for people in his position in a manufacturing environment. They're usually super lazy or completely incompetent. So if nothing else you can take comfort in knowing he's one of the good ones. It's hard to know the exact reasons why he's stressed but maybe you can suggest he asks a superior for guidance on making things run more smoothly.

I realize how silly this sounds, I didn't think it would work either. But once you cut the shit foods out, you'll most likely begin to put on weight. I've struggled my whole life being the skinniest guy in the room until recently. Think about it this way; you're eating shit... It's just calories and sugar. Speaking as a machinist, It can be pretty tough to get promoted. Most of the time there's a stigma against moving blue to white, so they outsource to someone that doesn't have the practical experience for a supervisor role. My journey has been in the making for a while longer, but I can say I've definitely noticed similar results. I can't really say sugar is the sole source though.
