Child support payments, when and where mandated, are mandated exclusively to assist with promoting and maintaining the well-being of the child or children for whom such payments are required. When a virile anatomical and chromosomal male opts to engage in mutually consensual vaginal coitus with an anatomical and chromosomal female, unless that female is sterile via tubal ligation or hysterectomy, there remains a chance he might impregnate her, becoming liable to pay child support should a preg…

Globalism IS an identity, frequently inclusive of humanism, humanitarianism, futurism, tranhumanism, and abolitionism (meaning the ethical imperative to abolish suffering among sentient organisms)... as well as a sanctuary for those sexualities and genders not falling within the traditional binary. As an aside (in regard to economics), globalism is already the practice of capital. Capital knows few borders. Labor (and global culture), on the other hand, yet remain divided and conquered. The Azur…

Not every act of sex with a post-pubescent minor is going to produce trauma and/or lasting detriment... but every single one is legally non-consensual... so a definite no-no.

It's enough to make one consider that perhaps all children should be produced via artificial insemination (with something like RISUG being in effect at other times).

If we rate occurrences of domestic violence according to a scale of severity (low for mild verbal abuse, high for rape or murder), and then add up the number of incidents, we attain what might be called a "domestic violence anti-utility indicator". If we then perform this kind of calculation for each sex independently, we get figures that can be used to assess total damage incurred by each sex. I maintain that if one sex incurs an anti-utility total that's 70% of the sum total of all anti-utilit…

Mixing truth with undemonstrated assertion is standard in rhetoric. I'm not sure why I bothered to look at one paragraph in this post more closely than I usually look at such fare. Perhaps, it just rubbed me the wrong way (it felt sloppy). Anybody with any semblance of compassion or empathy would realize that men’s issues are serious. Agreed. and women's issues are cries for attention. Whenever someone expends energy for the sake of increasing visibility and/or discourse regarding some abuse (wh…

If the premise behind this is that, once sex is engaged, it's possible that a "no" would be forthcoming (in the event of a withdrawal of consent), but for some reason cannot be produced (per some quality of the act of sex, itself)... then this provision is INADEQUATE... and a "yes" must be provided more or less every 15 seconds (in order for us to be quite sure that consent has not been withdrawn). Outside of the above scenario (however likely or unlikely)... most reasonable people think that a …

Preferring the term "womb bearer" over "woman" does sound a little transphobic to me (although it certainly may have been meant fully innocently). While I understand that many people are most comfortable with a world consisting primarily of an unambiguous gender binary, I lament that so many are too dense to comprehend that gender self-identification is determined by the mind (however influenced by hormonal body chemistry).

Many people are quite sick, ethically, and with a twisted sense of one-up-man-ship. When other scapegoats are denied them (minorities, gays, Jews, Muslims, witches), people will yet accept a good deal of maltreatment in regard to non-alpha males.

I think that many men and women desire to see adequate well-being and happiness as the preferred outcome for each. This emphasis is not, strictly speaking, seeking an equal or superior outcome in relation to others, nor is it focused solely upon opportunity.

I assess morality according to whether or not there are intrinsic and significant harms that follow from a behavior (and any factors which contribute to bringing that behavior into being). The harms I consider are, firstly, harms to human persons, and secondly, harms to the overall biosphere. To me, if a subreddit is party to creating intrinsic and significant harm, there's at least some reason to consider doing something about it (better moderation or banning).

The "just" construction, within its most appropriate use, emphasizes a petition for acceptance regarding an action outwardly questionable. "You ate all the fig newtons!!" "I was just being charitable.. they were all stale." If the action highlighted is commonplace ("I just wanted to check in"), its use is more likely to be the sort of (faux) subordination OP indicated.

Because everyone has the same goals? I was considering self-actualization across the set of all individuals, each instance of which is not the same in kind, but of equivalent development. I would argue that you don't have a right to plan for anyone or tax anyone with out their consent. We've already seen what society looks like when run by only capital and church, prior to the advent of large social programs like SocSec. Invisible hands do many things that are unflattering. Overall access to resources, general health, and even (with some degree of error) general happiness can each be objectively measured. That there are various subjective perspectives regarding the various ways to get there is no reason to get caught up in only such considerations of means, forgetting that there is an end, which end might never come into being if not desired enough (and I would argue, planned for and taxed for). If an allegedly fair game inevitably results in gross inequality to th…

Politics mediates opinion regarding what is best for society. Coercion is, to some degree, everpresent... in the example you mentioned above, where "wage wars" descend to $8/hour, it's quite possible that collusion across the field of ALL employers in an area will prevent fair wages from ever being paid... if we adjudge fairness by some semblance to value-added (minus various deductions taken for SocSec, etc.) Profit at the expense of the worker is the great unspoken theft that occurs every day.…

You are aware that under capitalism, for centuries, almost NO worker has been paid anything even near full-value added, right? That is redistribution. Contraception should be available to those who cannot afford it at a drastically reduced rate, if not free. Being able to nix pregnancy (while still having sex) is something every person in a 1st world country should be able to do at will.

Aside from (maybe) a few radical feminists, who could be unhappy about what RISUG/Vasalgel portends, the vast majority of people who will have concerns about the technology will be puritanical sorts, who are worried about the "free-fuck-for-all" of the 1970's resuming.

I'd go with "homme fatale". Women have had all manner of alluring types (some innocuous, some not) ascribed to them in literature: femme fatale, lolita, vixen, hoyden, trollop, etc. That men can be attractive is obvious, but alluring is not typically painted upon them.

Women participate in rape (tolerance) culture, as well. They are infamous for slut shaming even more vehemently than men might, and are just as quick to inspect the garb of a rape victim for apt puritanical design. Lastly, they are nearly as fond of prison rape jokes as men, I suspect.

I think rape culture exists (more precisely termed, it would be called "rape tolerance culture"). It's not ubiquitous, nor is it equally represented in all terrain across the nation, but manifests itself as light sentencing for rapists (compared to other serious crimes), denying rape statistics, denying certain forms of rape as rape, making light of rape in jest (this is particularly common in regard to prison rape), and the mistreatment of persons reporting rape. NO... not all (or even most) me…

It seems that lack of trust plays a huge role in preventing apt moral precept from being extended to the wider society. I've always been intrigued by sci-fi stories that figure mind readers into the plot, whereby treachery was transparent from the get-go of a relationship or interaction. One distinction that may legitimize the discernment of the person citing rape culture is the fact that, while there really is no prevalence of jokes about women throwing babies into dumpsters (we all agree such is no laughing matter), in many places there are a plethora of jokes making light of rape (and of prison rape).

Even with women working, two income families can often attain a higher standard of living... so some incentive to at least cohabit remains. People need to be (and stay) compatible, in order for a marriage to be considered "the green grass side of the fence". I'm not convinced that the marriages of yesteryear exhibited any more compatibility than is present today... it's only that women have more upkeep options now, and divorce easy to attain.

The sort of thing I'm thinking about may be understood by considering a case where an atheist and a theist are arguing over whether God exists. Instead of directly attacking any of the standard arguments for God's existence (ontological, teleological, etc.) the atheist might instead offer his/her take regarding the psychological reasons a human living in a godless universe might desire a God to exist, particularly during those (rather barbaric) times wherein Gods first entered written history.

When someone asserts that a promiscuous female is invariably deficient because of that promiscuity, and should therefore be ASHAMED about it... that's slut shaming. I suppose the amendments could be extremely detailed, e.g. permitting a 19 year old to have oral sex with a 14 year old, but forbidding that same 19 year old from having coitus with anyone under 16. Imperatives regarding influencing the ratio of (statistically) commonplace women to rare snowflakes, insofar as such can be influenced (education, training, eugenics, drugs), might arise from a) one's personal interest regarding said ratio, and/or b) one's desire regarding a vision for the future. The use of "slut" or "slutty", irrespective of accuracy, is automatically going to evoke many negative associations in the minds of many readers. If that's what you want to evoke in regard to persons indicated or described, fine... but many readers will tend to consider you unduly judgmental unless they're ALREADY of a mind that slutiness is inevitably and indubitably questionable, particularly if they have sympathies for those you may have described as such.

When you add that TRP is about getting women to have sex with you and the effectiveness of asshole game for that purpose the feminists howls turn into spitting rage. I imagine the correct response by women would be to learn how to resist TRP tactics of game. Humanity stands to inherit a rather nuts & bolts society should women so succeed. Semi-lurker, here (meaning that I only come here from time to time): That is the first time I've read that TRP = sociopathy. Given my limited reading here, I would have said that TRP = strategy, but I suppose that full strategic prowess probably does resemble, if not require, something like sociopathy. I think you are right that many men are disgusted by the female slut, but I don't think that sexual activity (by either sex), in itself, devalues a person in relation to potential for a successful long-term relationship. Many people take multiple sexual partners in youth. Such is not necessarily reflective of their mid-adult life behavior, or even of the sum of their desires at the time they engaged in such. Edit: paragraph break

/r/MensRights23/09/13 07:02 PM

Okay. I suppose I cannot deny that inaccurate and harmful stereotypes are being perpetuated by these kinds of cheap shots. It would take a little more evidence, I think, to safely ascribe systemic entrenchment to some of these faults and misdeeds, rather than the more obvious cultural entrenchment.

I would consider the reverse to be equally sexist and equally blithe regarding violence. I would not ascribe misogyny. That others make errors when interpreting reverse examples does not mean that we should make the same kinds of errors.

I think the sign just exhibits plain old sexism, mixed with a blithe attitude towards violence. I think both of those things to be faults, but would stop short of calling it misandry.

Even the best of us can be overcome by a drug, but if we listen to those who educate us about the effects of drugs, do additional research regarding the same, and are cautious in our experimentation (allowing us to more safely gauge our reactions to any given drug), it would prevent a lot of mishaps in that arena.

the social acceptability of tobacco declined - it is no longer cool to smoke. Also, people might prefer other drugs to tobacco, now. The table is fuller than it used to be. Some have said (and I partially believe) that "good drugs push put bad drugs", meaning that when all drugs are available without the risk of legal entanglement, those that are most rewarding, overall, will eventually squeeze out those that are less so. As it stands now, in some ways, ethanol and tobacco have an "unfair advant…

Some people risk situations of limited harm. If only those practices most likely to bring excellent health were permitted, life for many would become insufferable. I am suggesting that maybe the non-acceptance of those who do not live in such a health-optimized manner is too harsh to be a worthy norm.
/r/MensRights14/08/13 12:40 PM

This doesn't mean we should be accepting of overweight people because it is still harmful to their health. I would distinguish between the condition and the people who have it. Also, we may warn against something harmful without going so far as to be non-accepting of its occurance. The overall level of harmfulness would inform this.

I desired to acknowledge those who undergo extensive measures to physically approximate the gender they feel they are. Perhaps the presence of a surgically constructed penis and typical male testosterone levels in the blood do not a man make, but I'd say those elements qualify moreso than lifting a barbell, or pulling a trigger.

They claim to want equality, but expect special treatment. Sometimes special treatment is required to bring about a certain kind of desirable equality, as when a superior player is handicapped for a game of Go (as one example).
