You're right. The dark side of pickup is the need to be important and to compare yourself to others. However, we are all unique and we can't alwaya be like Tom or others. And I top of this, the community had a nasty way of looking down in you if you weren't like "the best". Tom was a good guy though, and he didn't preach this negativity. His message was inspirational only.

Fuck man. So many people loved Tom. The true Tom may of had depression, but he was intelligent and kind. It's so sad considering so many would love to of helped him if he let us. Tom was a good person at heart and didn't preach hate. His message was actually positive. He told us to follow our passions, to love life and grab it by the horns. He lived what he preached.
