she was so happy from the picnic she wanted to end it off on a high note, what's wrong with that? on a real note, she wanted you and you did cool things and had a good time with her, I don't see anything too beta here, it wasn't like you were begging for her attention or sex. The bigger mistake would have been logistics for the first two dates, why not end it at your place next time so 'it just happened'? Good job anyways.
