That's really good. That's awesome I happy for your kids, It's really good that you turned your negative experience into something positive for your chidlren. Yeah I'm pretty young, like 23, so Czechoslovakia was a bit before my time. But right now although we are an eastern european country things are okay-ish... definitely one of the better places in Eastern Europe so I can't complain.

That still feels too strong, but I understand where you are coming from.

Sure, it's definitely important. But I feel we have moved away a bit from "mothers subconsciously destroy their sons" too "children need both parents". The first statement feels almost cruel towards mothers, which is why I asked my question intialy.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. That sounds really really rough.

I feel that a majority of people don't like "sensitive" people, no? Like girls definitely have more leeway but at a point they get called hysterical.

It's possible that mothers tend to be more overprotective then fathers... but there are a lot of very overprotective fathers out there. It doesn't feel fair to attribute this to mothers broadly and only mothers for that matter.

Sure a mother probably can't relate in many ways to her sons... but I doubt that leads to the "destruction" of the child. Isn't that a little extreme?

Well that feels like a very hyper specific scenario involving drugs that probably doesn't describe even most single mother relationships... I imagine most singlemothers get boyfriends and those then fill in the role. I mean step-dads are pretty common for a reason.

How do mothers subconsciously destroy their own sons?

Well if you wanted to be the hookup guy, and couldn't be... wouldn't that still be the result of rejection? Consolation prize guy sounds like someone who gets rejected most of the time atleast initialy.

You are right, this is something us guys need to work on. All I would say is that you might have sounded a little dismissive, as this kind of dynamic is something you grow into as a kid... and it's hard to shake. But I can understand the frustration of seing someone complain about what on the surface looks like a simple issue.

Would you mind providing a source to these claims?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
