I really appreciate your kind of comments - I did not follow the situation, so thank you for the sources! Just to add - I would quit too if I were one of the cops putting my life on the line only to see my city turn on me. There is a huge issue with police brutality and just overstepping their bounds in general. But vast majority of LEOs are amazing people. If I were of them, I being made to be a scapegoat would be unacceptable.

100%. My wife, for example, is very independent. We make similar money. It wasn't until like 6 months into dating that she'd allow me to pay for the date, and that was really because we both knew it's not about the money - we'd both just treat each other to stuff

I think it is less about the study itself, and more about the type of people that gravitate towards it. For every one truly passionate and hard working history major (like your friend) , there are 10 that are getting an easy degree in a field they kinda like and because their parents are expecting them to graduate college. That's what I figured, but people in law school usually say "law school" instead of "grad school" so I got curious. But as you said, the only reason you got the degree is that it served as a good mean to an end. How can we have respect for a degree that not even people who major in it respect?

Good luck getting into stem grad school with no stem undergrad. And while what you say is true, it is much easier to pursue a chem/bio degree before med school because you don't have to worry about getting your pre med reqs done, on top of your major reqs. Plus you get exposure to many things you will see in your first two years of medical school. I have no experience with law school, but I would assume that what you do out of school matters faaar more than what degree you graduated with

I disagree with you on P2. I think that a party has the right to get out of child rearing (and all the responsibilities that go along with it) before the birth. After, however, both parents should contribute. Even if one is making seven figures, and the other is at $30k. They both created the child, they both agreed to rear it, so they both should help support it. Now, a clause where both parties consent to PARENTHOOD prior to birth - that is something I could get behind.

I would say that the things to consider are: like you said - previous relationship between the two; how much more intoxicated one person is than the other; the behavior just prior to sex. I am not saying that this is what the courts should base their decision off of. I do not know what the chain of custody was. I was simply replying to the other person's argument that the act occurred only allegedly. If there is a video of the act it is as good of a piece of evidence as the internet community will get it's hands on. I am not saying that we should just skip the trial! I never said I disagreed with that statement. Both parties' identities should be kept secret. Furthermore, I think that there should be a way of adding the names of people filing false rape reports to a Sex Offender Registry (or equivalent). Things should be equal.
