You are making a whole lot of assumptions here as to her intention and state of mind when she told her father she was pregnant. That's the problem though, we don't have the full story or all the details. People are just filling in the blanks and assuming she intended for her dad to kick his ass or kill him. And you said it yourself in the last sentence, you would rather assume intent and guilt. That is not how the justice system should work. Even if you can prove that they said something, it doesn't make them responsible for your actions unless they could reasonably be expected to know what your reaction would be. Example: Lying to your father who is holding a gun that someone raped you and giving him their address. In this situation you can be expected to know that their is a good chance he going to go kill that person. Example 2: Lying to you father about who got you pregnant. This is completely different, any reasonable person would expect people to run and gtfo if you scream fire in a theater. The same is not true of telling your father your boyfriend got you pregnant. That conversation happens millions of times a year and in almost all of them the dad does not kill the boyfriend. Look at it this way, the fact that she lied played no role in the fathers decision to kill him. He thought she was telling the truth and decided to murder him. But she is in not culpable for his murder. A reasonable person would not respond to that news in that way. It cannot be expected that she would know how he would react. Here's the thing, I agree that this post mischaracterizes the subreddit by equating all of its members with the extremists that definitely exist within the community at large.
