People don't need to go through a certain experience to talk about it or understand it to a degree. But in your logic, since neither of us have gone through it, you'll never get it, either.

The "the past is the past" idea is by no way an absolute, so I have no idea where that even came from. I've never said that the woman was not at fault. I understand where you're coming from; it's the initial comment that I had an issue with. By transaction, I'm referring to that of a business type nature, when marriage should be leaning over to a familial one. The idea being forced to provide is certainly an issue, but people's behaviours can be reformed. I do believe that the woman should've be…

I would have to disagree for two reasons. Firstly, I wouldn't call it 'woman's rape' because both sexes are capable of experiencing it. Secondly, there is no obligation to raise another man's children. If there is no genetic connection due to infidelity, he has no role, and can file for divorce on this basis. Don't get me wrong; the emotional trauma of raising children that you find out aren't yours isn't something I can relate to, but for certain must be devastating. I wouldn't, however, catego…

How does it 'hand control over to the woman'? A marriage is a mutual agreement. There is no superior control. Please describe how it is. If you're talking about divorce, the assets are divided based on custody, and that's fair, unless of course, someone manipulates the system. If that's your point, then what you should be doing is complaining about the system, and not the nature of the marriage itself. As for cavemen, they would live in small units so they knew each other's mates. We live in a f…

I have to disagree. You forget that it is the man who makes the proposal. I don't quite understand how a man would willingly entrap themselves. They don't 'provide resources' either. It's a mutual relationship with roles they set for each other. If the wife is a housewife, of course she'll get an allowance. As for things like gifts, it's one spouse wanting to make the other happy, out of love. It's not like a business transaction. Furthermore, yes, children need both parents. It has been proven …

The reason many people, including myself, believe in marriage, is not for this 'women gets power over you' bullshit (seriously, get over yourself, guys in the comments) but because children should be raised in an environment with both a maternal and paternal figure. Hence why I dislike teen pregnancies and children being born out of wedlock. Raise your kids in a stable environment with parents that love the child and each other, and that'll bring the child down a road of happiness. 'Social condi…

Very strange, it seems that the men here see relationships as a transaction. If that's what you've been looking for, it's no wonder you're on here. I fully support the idea of not having a relationship; you should seek your own form of happiness in life. But there is a misunderstanding of what a relationship is about. It's not about sex, depending on who you're dating. Think of your partner as your friend first, then other things following. If you're in a relationship for sex, can you really be …

Woman's rape is bad because... what? Rape is bad because a person no longer sees a person as human and treats them like a piece of meat, and it's an incredibly traumatic and painful. It's not 'woman's rape', but rape in general. Do you honestly believe a woman being raped is like, "Oh no, the wrong man's genetics!" I don't think that's the issue.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
