I think it's degrading to woman to say they let themselves be overpowered by men, or to say that men took the power from them, as if they're not just as capable of standing up for themselves as men are. 1	Verbally apologizing to women can have unintended consequences. I think this relates to how easy it is to apologize enthusiastically for anything.
