He uses 'ladies' because it allows him to convey a lot in very few words. By phrasing it that way, he is conveying that as a grown male, his daughters mean more to him than a romantic partner, and he would be willing to forsake future romantic relationships if that's what it took for him to get the chance to be a father for his daughters again. Literally nothing creepy in it.

If you do it that way the phrasing would be 'we have 38% fewer subscribers than /r/TwoXChromosomes.' Mine is still accurate.

As I understand the word 'flag,' it means an indicator of something that would benefit from further scrutiny, so I don't think we're really disagreeing that much.

My last post flew over your head I guess. To clarify: yeah of course using bitch as you just did is (or should) not be offensive to people. What I am saying is that it is not pointless to take note of instances of bitch because I'm sure that bitch is often used in situations where the true meaning behind it is sexist/offensive. If you just run the numbers, yeah, it's just a word, but that's why I said it's worth looking at as a flag for potentially offensive intent.

So from this we get: Bitch appears on /r/TwoXChromosomes 17% more frequently than it does on /r/MensRights. This is speculative, but I think that can almost assuredly be chalked up to the context I mentioned in a prior post. Cunt appears 53% as often on /r/TwoXChromosomes vs. on /r/MensRights

It's not pointless if those specific words frequently occur in contexts where the actual meaning behind them is offensive. They are often good indicators or flags for sexist intent.

r/TwoXChromosomes also has 60% more readers/subscribers, so if you take that into account we probably actually have a higher frequency of those words per capita. Not to mention the fact that's more likely for those words to appear in a "What do you think of 'bitch' and 'cunt'?" context over there than over here. EDIT: Though in retrospect you also have to factor in the differences in the length of time each subreddit has been around, which definitely complicates the comparison.

I hope you understand that this is literally the exact mindset of the feminism you dislike. They feel they are at a disadvantage, so any injustice that is perpetrated against 'the other' is good, as it serves to create balance.
