Not quite. Independent, fundamental Baptist Churches are good in this area.

Here's my perspective as a 26 yo single guy that's got my life in order and looking for a spouse. If it's one thing I've learned from RP, it's never fight hypergamy. I've got a bachelor's engineering degree and am set up with a good job at a good company. Further, with my finances and investments, I expect to be able to comfortably support a family in the future even without my engineering income. I speak 2 languages fluently. I'm a dedicated, masculine Christian man. If I was considering dating…

What country is this church in? It seems hard to pull off in America, where many are going to find these rules too restricting. Although, I know a church that puts a similar emphasis on purity in dating and relationships, so I've seen it work and think something like this is preferable to the mainstream evangelical church in America with divorce rates similar to the world, which just shows their care-free approach is broken. This kind of culture is rare since it requires strong biblical leaders …

I mean this can work in theory, but if you're struggling with porn, you probably don't have the discipline to pull it off. That's just the reality. Getting an accountability partner is making the difficult choice upfront to prevent struggle down the line, while depending on yourself is making an easy choice upfront and bearing the yoke of all your future personal urges yourself. Don't let your struggles compound, make the hard choice upfront.

Get an accountability partner and let them monitor any potentially bad browsing with Covenant Eyes. In my experience, the shame and embarrassment of your partner seeing your activity is more effective than blockers. And it has blockers too. edit: wording

Good stuff. As someone who is also into Bitcoin, is the Bitcoin course and reading something you're doing for a potential career/money making opportunity (other than just investing in it)? I'm hoping to one day work with Bitcoin in some way and I'm taking some steps in that direction now.

It's Jeremiah 31:22 in the KJV, and for others I assume.

Look for the Stronglifts 5x5 link in the side bar. I’ve been lifting for years and it’s the best routine I’ve done. It’s 3 workouts a week, one hour each. I don’t know if there’s a more efficient routine in terms of hours spent for your gains. Edit: it also comes with an app which makes everything very easy to keep track of.

Sir, your humility is strikingly refreshing. God bless!

That’s not talking about all Christian men who remained virgins. It’s speaking about a specific set of 144,000 male Jewish virgins who preach the gospel during the great tribulation. I’m not saying that singleness is bad, just that it doesn’t have its own special blessing from God.

Can you provide scripture to back up that single men get rewards in heaven for singleness? Your conflating physical and spiritual marriage. They are separate concepts that do not encroach on each other. In fact, the point of god creating physical marriage is to give us a better idea of what the spiritual marriage is like, and as men to experience what it’s like to lead a wife, to see God’s point of view in leading a wife. Mirroring the spiritual marriage with a physical one is a way to honor God…

But Christ WILL get married. That’s what the marriage supper of the lamb is. He marries the church and completes that picture that earthly relationships have foreshadowed since Adam and Eve.

I'm gonna push back on giving up the square framed glasses. Square frames accentuate sharp features on your face like a sharp jaw line. Round frames do the opposite. In fact, I have almost never seen a guy wearing those new, stylish, very round glasses reminiscent of the 80s, not look soy.

I agree especially with your last line. I really wish that weren't the case. The feminine programming is deep.

Here are a few verses implying Christian authority in the next life: If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. (2 Timothy 2:12) And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. (Revelation 2:26-27) Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy …

I like your application, but you don't think we will get rewarded with authority in the next life? Other scripture says we will be made rulers and judges so I do think the rewards extend beyond this life.

Since we're on the subject, how does taking risks in life relate to the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14–30). The parable is financial, but it is just a parable, so it could relate to many things. In what area does God expect us to increase our 'talents'...financially, skills, relationships...all of the above?

What do they have to gain from being blue pill? Aside from the short term pleasure, nothing. It deteriorates you. But it's hard coded into our flesh. It's our natural inclination to fall that way. This was first imputed into male behavior when Adam fell in a BP way, and dark spiritual forces work to amplify this behavior.

And that's an okay opinion to have. You're fine to hold that. But the second you start telling other people they have to agree with you and they "should" follow you, you're on very shaky ground. I simply gave my opinion backed up with logic and scripture. How you take that is up to you.

Yes. But that doesn't mean a wife obeys everything you want her to do. sub·mis·sion: the action or fact of accepting or yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another person. (Google) The husband should not be a tyrant or ask the wife to sin. The wife still has input and should submit of her free will. I think what's often missed is that if you are being the man you should be, the wife will submit naturally. So be a man. No idea what to say to this. If you're not going to ap…

And the concept of "the wife should submit" is really weak reasoning for doing...well...anything in marriage. Do you believe that a wife should submit in marriage? Ephesians 5 talks about this, and the sidebar mirrors the view of the passage. "Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set." Prov. 22:28 This is not referring to biblical fathers. It refers to using considerable caution in overturning customs or landmarks that their earthly fathers have placed in their wisdom.

The wife taking the husband's name shows submission and him being the head of the home. Is that not reason enough? A lot of the things we do, we do for cultural and not explicitly biblical reasons. Should we buck that trend cuz we feel like it even though it represents a good picture of a Christian marriage? "Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set." Prov. 22:28

I think you're overthinking it. The wife takes on the name of the husband to symbolize union with him as well as submission to his frame. As a corollary, Christ gives those who are saved (the bride of Christ) a new name (Rev 2:17). EDIT: (It's not a perfect analogy, since that name is secret to each believer, but I think the gist of it applies.)

Great write up. I was wondering if you could give more details on your example of being a jerk with your pastor about discipleship. Myself and other could learn a lot from the specifics.
