I know the replies you received are helpful for me. I feel terrible as well. I am almost 56, my ex had at least 1 affair, I feel completely alone and I feel like I will never have any friends again. it’s been a year since the divorce and my ex seems to be stalking me even though i changed my phone number. I need to find others bad and I just don’t know how to go about doing it.

Those are very nice words to hear. I woke up having a very tough morning. It is 1 year for me after a 30 year marriage, I am almost 56, and I feel completely lost.

You stated this well. This is exactly me. I am struggling so badly. I know that I have good things around me, but I feel exactly like you. I am completely alone.

I am not embarrassed at all. She had an affair with her best friend’s husband who is not good looking and has no personality. It was not my fault. She is the asshole.

I am desperately lonely but I do not worry about the wellbeing of my evil ex

please be certain that you are ok. it is terrible to think about the loss of 10 year. However, the loss goes both ways. you are ok. She could not handle being on her own while you were studying, caring about the wellbeing of others, and trying to improve the lives for both of you. Move on and feel confident like she could not.

I will give it a try. I am hoping to find groups to meet in person.

I completely agree with everything that was stated. I have one question that stems from a statement from below. I am 55 and divorced for 1 year. someone below stated that they spend time with their buddies. How do you find buddies at this age? I work, come home, take care of the dogs, and that is about it.

I understand being down, but don’t think that you are so bad. I was in it for 30 years, no kids, 55 yo, and very lonely now.

I was gullible as well. I was married for 30 years. My ex had an affair and then I realized how I had been living a lie for many years and letting her manipulate me. I thought we were in a committed relationship, but I was wrong. I am 55, now kids, all alone, some friend and family, but she destroyed my character with my long time friends. I have no idea what she could have told them. She is quite sneaky and of course should not be trusted.

I am 55 and was married for 30 years. I divorced last yea, tried to hide the pain with alcohol and dating, and fina ripped off the bandaid. I’m feeling terribly low right now and don’t know how to pick myself up. I do not want to do dating apps. I joined a gym , am taking a photography class, volunteer, reach out to old friends, and am very busy with work. I still find it difficult to focus and worry about everything. Does this ever ease up?

I am miserable. I tried to cover the pain with alcohol and dating and it didn’t work. I now have very high anxiety, am lonely, worried, and worried about making friends. I am pure gloom and doom.

I am a sensitive guy as well. I am in my 50’s, was married for 30 years to my HS sweetheart and knew her and her family since I was in 5th grade. She had an affair with her best friend’s husband for 3 years, stopped, and hid it from both of us for 4 years. We found out last year. The divorce was final last October. I was in a relationship a bit too soon and realized that I was seeing someone with some similar qualities as my ex. I called it off and have been alone for a few months. I’m going thr…

This happened to me for over 30 years. I finally discovered that she had an affair with her best friend’s husband. We have been divorced for almost 1 year. I do have the feelings stated in the video. How do I overcome them now? What has worked for others?

it took 9 months for it to be complete and we had separate lawyers with a mediater. The lawyers know the process and know how much to expect from you. We were married for 30 years.

I am having the exact same problem as you. Most of our mutual friends took her side even though she was the one that cheated on me with her best friend’s husband. I cannot begin to understand it. I can only assume that she told them some sort of very convincing story. So, I am starting over.

I’m not moving and I feel the exact same way. I recently joined a gym, joined clubs for hobbies, and am diving into work. I still feel empty. I am hoping that time will help.

I really needed to hear this out of not feeling alone. However, I feel terrible that you are going through it. I am 55 and was married for 30 years to my HS sweetheart. I learned that she had an affair with her best friend’s husband. So she destroyed me and her supposed other best friend. Now I am alone and trying to figure out what to do with myself.

I feel the exact same way. I don’t have children. I have 2 dogs, but I am still starved for social interaction.

I’m 55, no kids, was married to my HS sweetheart and learned that she had an affair with her best friend’s husband. So, I’m in the same spot. I am trying to meet people, joined a gym, taking a photography class, but am lonely because I depended on a social network that we built together.

it’s been a year for me after a 30 year marriage to my HS sweetheart where she cheated on me with her best friend’s husband. I just broke up with a GF that I was dating for a year because she wanted to hear me say I Love You etc. I’m not a mushy guy. I do, however, show that I care through my actions. I introduced her to my family and friends, I brought her and her daughter stuff back from every business trip, I initiated ballroom dance lessons with her and her friends etc. so, I am back to wher…
