10	A guy can decline an invitation by saying his girlfriend won't let him go and everyone will likely understand. But if a girl declines an invitation by saying her boyfriend won't let her go, people will likely get concerned. Actually it did pretty good. I don't think many people saw the problem with it. The more conventional interpretation would be that since men are usually stronger than women it's only a problem when men dictate things in a relationship. This, of course, ignores the passive aggression, guilt tripping, and threats which men can feel greatly pressured by. The show itself was created by a feminist, and the fact it marketed to girls meant it definitely got some feminists in the audience. The colorful animation and message of love and tolerance also appealed to the LGBT and Trans communities to a good extent, and they have at times been at least sympathetic to third wave feminism.
