Because its always authoritian and always ends up killing millions of people either intentionally or just by sheer stupidity. I dont get what you are saying. 8% in one year is a lot. And ofc we are not just talking about federalizing prisons, but to also run them better so its not just a huge money grab. Tbh, im not from the us, but the state of prisons there (and ofc all the innocent in them) worries me, and i know private prisons are using inmates to make as much money as possible. The fact that prisons can be privately owned blew my mind at first
