Oh for sure. Our worse enemy is usually other women 😮‍💨 which sucks cuz we really should be looking out for one another and lifting each other up (same thing applies to men tbh, but usually in a different aspect).

100%!! I (27F) tend to feel really nervous about being the one to first approach men cuz either 1) people think I’m desperate cuz “women don’t usually do that” or 2) I can’t tell if it’s a mutual feeling and/or the appropriate time to approach (primarily when it’s someone that’s currently working, or they’re out with a big group of friends). I just try to initiate conversation when I’m able to, or keep myself open for conversation with that guy by looking his direction, not having my body turned…

That last sentence is so true. As a woman, there’s been so many times I’ve flat out flirted with a guy and I can tell it’s just not clicking in his head 😭😂

Do you have any gal friends that you could ask for advice from? I would just explain what you’re struggling with, but instead of asking “how do I handle this?” or “how do I stop this?” ask if they think you accidentally come off as creepy and if they have any advice for you. A good friend would happily help out with this!!

It’s hard to give genuinely helpful advice without really “seeing you in action” per se… but as a woman I can tell you that if you’re having this problem on a regular basis then it’s probably because you are coming off as creepy and/or overextending your welcome

This is so accurate. As a woman I love the build up to stuff more than the actual thing. I like making out, but if you just go for it I’m not gonna like it as much. If you just go straight for my hand, it’s not as nice as you “making an excuse” to do it. The excuse is cute, flirty, and it’s not as “aggressive” as just going for it. Women like men who are more soft and caring than “brave” and rough. (Don’t believe me, look at men’s magazines vs women’s magazines. The men’s magazines show guys as …

Why wouldn’t it be? Sometimes telling someone they’re hot/handsome comes off kinda weird imo lol especially if you’re not super familiar with one another.

Agreed, glad that not everyone in here is as dumb as the sub seems. If some dude approached me while grocery shopping I would be creeped tf out. At a bar or something, not as big of a deal cuz that’s supposed to be social. If I’m shopping somewhere just leave me alone.

Unattractive but is super confident. I want a partner that makes me happy, as long as he’s maintaining healthy hygiene practices and isn’t always complaining about everything ever, idc what he looks like. The moment I hear a guy complaining about how he looks or how he can’t get a girl etc etc it’s kind of a red flag to me. I’m not gonna date someone who never showers, is filthy, etc but also looks are just a nice bonus imo they’re not the end all be all of romance.

Yea, as a woman I think you’re unfortunately right 🤷🏻‍♀️ yea ofc if you already have those things it’s great but I’ve personally dated a couple of…unconventionally attractive guys because they were funny or had ambition etc etc Yes, looks definitely help you and having natural charisma and whatnot helps too, but what definitely doesn’t help is complaining about shit.

…you seriously think someone watching your stories means they wanna caboodle with you? I watch plenty of peoples stories in social media and follow lots of people, doesn’t mean I wanna sleep with any of em or that I’m interested in them.

It’s a good thing imo, a lot of the time when I talk to guys and they’re loud and don’t know how to stop talking it’s kinda annoying. I also think it’s cuz we’re used to most guys being very loud and boisterous. My boyfriend has times where he’s very loud when talking and he doesn’t even realize it lol.

Yea I mean he hadn’t bought a place before we were together, and he doesn’t have any kids, so those things are/will be firsts for both of us at the same time.

So, I’m a pretty laid back and chill person and have always been told I act older than I actually am, so in the sense of mentality I think we were at least pretty close to one another. But when you look at where we were in our lives, that was wildly different. At the time I was about a year or two into college when I met him, and he has been graduated from college for quite sometime. I also was still living with my parents while he had his own place.

Thanks! Honestly it’s mostly that we just have a lot in common. We have a lot of similar interests and have the same goals for life, we’re both goofy as hell, and other things. We did have a few issues in the beginning of our relationship but it wasn’t necessarily entirely because of our age gap imo but it might have contributed, I’m not 100% sure. We’ve gotten through those and have a really strong relationship. We also just have REALLY strong communication, that has never been a problem in our…

I have had plenty of people tell me that the age difference is concerning etc etc and I just ignored em. We’re 7.5 years apart in age. Just cuz it’s not double digits doesn’t mean it’s not something that other people look down on.

Also, no one is saying that you can’t date someone from 18-22. If you look at my other comment I made separate from this I told OP to go for it. But comparing women to cars is disgusting.

Me and my boyfriend have a sizeable age gap (F24, M31) and we’ve been together for 5 years now, just bought a condo together. You’ll be fine, you might not get along with all of them but it’s not a definitive thing.

Not until they were married. They had their first kid out of wedlock and after they got married was when she finally saw all the paperwork and stuff that said his age. She had parents of a very traditional mindset so it was “once you’re married there’s no going back”. My grandpa dying was, sadly, one of the best things to happen to her.

If you’re wanting one night stands, sure lie about your age. If you’re wanting something long term/serious then you shouldn’t lie about your age. My grandma was tricked into marrying a man 13 years older than her when he lied about his age and he was manipulative af, him lying about his age was the dead giveaway of how his behavior is.

Just act like you’re trying to be friends at first, but throw in some small flirty comments. Nothing too overly crazy like “wow you have great boobs” but just things like “you look amazing when you wear that dress” or something similar, test the waters. If you really wanted to, you could always just be upfront after a week or so and say “hey, I’m really interested in you and would love to make this something more than friendship, are you interested as well?” And then discuss. Bring up things lik…

That’s the problem though, if you go into this trying your hardest to not be friendzoned, you run the risk of either 1) being friendzoned anyways and 2) coming off as weird, overly pushy, etc Just, be you! Show that you’re interested in us but don’t do it based off of our looks. We get comments from random men about how we look all the time, it’s not really all that great tbh.
/r/seduction29/07/22 12:44 AM

Sorry, the way my main comment is worded isn’t necessarily 100% accurate. You shouldn’t approach this way in a grocery store. I said it in another comment, but saying stuff about what she’s doing or looking at like “oh I’ve been meaning to try that, how is it?” isn’t as weird. You can absolutely 100% approach people in every day situations, but in every approach you should make it more about the person. Everyone is going to want to be valued as a person by other people, especially their partner!
/r/seduction29/07/22 12:42 AM

Yea, it’s basically the principle of being seen as an actual person vs being seen as eye candy

Nah I think it’s fine to talk to people as long as you do it respectfully. It’s just that us women don’t want some random dude coming up to us and saying that they’re only talking to us because of the way we look. I’ve had this exact situation happen to me and it’s made me very uncomfortable. The guy asked for my number, I said no, the guy ended up stalking me when I left the store and I had to call the cops. I’m not saying OP had bad intentions, but the unfortunate truth is that not all men hav…

No there isn’t, but going up to some random woman and being like “hey I saw you and think your cute” is creepy. Starting a conversation about what she’s looking at on the shelf or something similar is totally fine.

Honestly, you shouldn’t have approached her in the grocery store. Women don’t want to have men do things like this, it’s weird and sometimes really creepy. I’m glad you were able to get out of your shell a bit but this isn’t the way to do it tbh.
/r/seduction28/07/22 04:18 AM

It’s not that we don’t give a shit about someone thinking we’re cute, it’s that when we go do something like grocery shopping we don’t want some random person coming up to us and bothering us. Just let us shop in peace.

Who the fuck cares if something/someone is simpy/a simp? Just do what makes you happy, don’t miss out on living your life the way you want cuz other people tell you how you should or shouldn’t live your life.

Also, not saying this is definitely what you did but are you SURE she was also interested in you? Or did you just go “wow this girls pretty I’m going to ask for her number”. If a dude came up and asked for my number without ever talking to him, I give him a fake number because women have literally been killed for rejecting men. She could’ve possibly not felt comfortable enough to go on a date or whatever and tbf I don’t know the entire situation so maybe she did seem interested but I’m willing t…

So, I’m super emotional and cry over the smallest things (yay anxiety lol). My boyfriend has only ever cried in front of me ONCE. We’ve been together for 4 years now. Still attracted to each other. If you can’t express emotion in front of your partner then that’s not a good relationship to be in.

I wouldn’t mind friendly arguments like that with people I already know. If that’s within the first month of me knowing you I’m gonna assume you’re against it and not feel comfortable around you but saying “I agree but let’s talk about the opposing argument for a second” isn’t bad! The friendly arguments at first need to be stuff like “I think X Actor is really bad and here’s why”.

As a woman, I’ve come across “nice guys” who turn out to be assholes way too often. It’s gotten to the point where, when someone is being nice to me I know there’s going to be a catch to this somewhere. Also, the teasing and challenging thing is hitting the nail on the head. Me and my boyfriend tease each other beyond belief, but you’ve gotta build up to that. You can’t tease someone like you’ve known them for years right off the bat. Playfully tease them about something that they’re telling you…
