As for the first part of your reply, no I don't think you have the recipient's best interests at heart. You're a man trying to give advice to women, when you've successfully and consciously convinced the woman you love to stay in an arrangement that makes her unhappy. You're doing this thing you often do, where to find linguistic loopholes to escape an honest answer.

I disagree. Giving commitment is a choice, as is having sex. As is choosing to marry or remaining monogamous. Deflecting the role you play in these choices and saying "it's not my fault, I just didn't feel it" is not helpful. As grown, self-aware adults, we have the option of overriding our feelings and behaving in a way that benefits ourselves and the people we care about.

Well you carry some weight in this community, I was trying to be polite. Sorry if you took that the wrong way. Ignoring the first four words then, do you have an answer?

The talk" ... she is negotiating for commitment. With all due respect, aren't you in a non-monogamous, unmarried relationship? If that's where avoiding "the talk" ends up, I'm not sure most women in here are gunning for that kind of relationship.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
