most bodybuilders started out as fat/scrawny people. It's because they worked out like bodybuilders that they made their goals.

you would not lose 30lbs of muscle in three months even if you took that time off the gym. It's too much mass to lose in that time frame unless he was literally being starved. You can lose 30 pounds of fat in that time though.

um... women are just saying this stuff to get the attention they want, they don't actually believe most of these things. They will look and smile at those they want to .

Could you also not say that while men have a biological want to spread their seed, women also have a biological want to attract the best seed. The fact that is both men and women enjoy the attention from the opposite sex and it's a great motivator for sex.

If you need to resort to hitting a woman or any other person in a situation where it is not self-defense, then you need to become stronger willed.

no, but I will remember the times that my and my kids enjoyed a few rounds of Mario Kart and the laughing frustration we had blowing each other up. But we also went to the baseball diamond too after dinner to toss the ball, so things in moderation are not bad thing IMO.

She went from 12% bf, which is has hard to maintain as sub 8% is for a man, to 18 bf% which is still very much in the fitness scale of things. She didn't let herself go. She just got tired of getting the perfect diet, sleep and exercise regime and found something she could maintain while still taking care of herself. Good for her. She still looks great and much better than 80% of the women out there. How many guys do you know that can maintain a bodybuilders physique in the long term? This is a …

add some chiro/physio to that and you'll be fine in 3 months. You can work through a pinched nerve, but you will have to deload. It sucks at first but you have to stay positive and enjoy the recovery.

As mentioned in my above post, the same as been said about any literature/media that people don't agree with, or more recently, violent movies and video games, heavy metal, rap music etc being a bad influence. In a vacuum, media cab absolutely have an effect on the minds that view/read/listen to them. In the absence of parenting, this can happen. In that case, it's really not the media's fault, it is the environment that the child grew up in.

They are just movies. Let your kids enjoy them if they are into that. Just like video games don't make serial killers, princess movies aren't going to make your daughter a bitch. Your involvement in their life, the values that you teach them and the example that you lead for them trumps all of that. Did I miss the news that Disney became a sponsor of this subreddit?

Went to my 9 year old daughters elementary school's 'spiritwear' sale where they had clothing designed to show school spirit. Noticed one of the designs had 'You only wish you could play like a girl'. Didn't see anything about boys being able to play well/hard. Of course, if they did , it would be sexist.

We should all be suspicious of shows like biggest losers. They are designed to sell advertising not to show us how to live our lives. The thing about BF is that it's controllable and this show obviously shows that. When you are 30%+ in BF, yeah you can lose a ton of weight quickly in a short period of time, but as you get closer and closer to your healthy weight, it gets harder. When you get to that point, IMO it's better to go slow, maintain or increase muscle mass and not just work on getting …

what makes more sense is that the entire ad is bullshit and people of any sex can be considered any of the positive or negative traits depending on the circumstances. There isn't a really a bias in favour of men, in fact, it's more of the opposite.

what does the fact that women like to use relationships to boost their egos have to do with my behavior? I didn't say you had to be a doormat, just realize that this is what makes women tick and handle yourself accordingly.

I heard an interview with one of the organizers behind this on CBC radio last week and I knew this would end up here. Now there may have been a language barrier between the interview and interviewee, but she seems really out of her element in actually describing what they were trying to achieve and what the overall purpose of this excercise was. It just seemed that they were happy to point out that things aren't fair in their opinion.
