if it makes you feel any better, the circumcision wasn't done for the company and would have happened anyway. they are also regrowing and reusing cells, it's not like they are taking infant foreskins from hospitals around the US. nobody is being harmed; the only dubious thing is maybe around compensation the company owes the boy and his family for the rights to use those cells, and whether they are able to revoke that right.

so you were saying that women are still seen as less of those things and government mandates are pushing for more women in those roles? I don't see an issue here; not sure how this has a big affect on men while men already hold the advantage in these kinds of situations, nor am I sure how this is even relevant. should we stop planting trees because we also have to save the whales? why not both things?

I was just explaining why there hasn't been a movement like the feminism movement; my comment wasn't an attempt to diminish anything. men's rights are important, though it would take men being less comfortable in order to start a movement. that was the entire point. not sure why I'm getting anger directed towards this, nor how that actually helps anything.

I don't think that would prove anything. If I showed you a case, you would just say it was the exception to the rule and that in the majority of other cases you'd expect to find gender sentences being different. You'd need some formal research paper with a ton of data points, something I don't think exists at the moment.

I realised after I posted, though yeah that's an assumption. I don't have data that can back that up. I have this, though it's centered around women so it's not all that credible. It might be a broad sweep to assume that Australia out-competes the US in other areas for gender equality.

Thank you. I do believe that the woman is in the wrong, though I don't think any gender equality injustice has taken place here due to the mental issues I quoted in the article. If this was someone who was mentally sound you'd look at that 37 days in prison and think "wow, that follows my idea that the justice system is unfair against men!", though as soon as you dig deeper into the article and read about how this women suffered from mental issues you can begin to understand the light sentencing…

Is the article confusing prison and jail? Why would you be held for 37 days in prison rather than a jail prior to sentencing? The article talks about no days held in jail, though I would advocate that prison is inherently worse than jail.

I would say innocent until proven guilty. It's all well and good people talking about sentencing disparities, though I've yet to see any evidence of this particular case being treated differently in Australia.
