Rewarding requires I take what she's saying at face value and choose to trust her on this. Punishment means ghosting/dropping her. She had the same reaction once when her bro called/texted her from overseas at 4AM, which she obviously didn't answer. Her parents were distraught because she didn't forward the texts or tell them and her bro was in the hospital.
