First it assumes that when presented with sexual assault, people will respond with a fight or flight reaction. I agree that they should have to testify and verify. They should have to answer questions about what happened just like with any other crime. People have to testify for murders or robberies or any other traumatic experience. It is the only way to have anything resembling evidence in many rape cases, after all. No, it really isn't. I'm well aware that there are people who lie about these things for personal gain. I am also aware of people who do not even get to the point of going to court for genuine claims, too, because of backlash from the accused, community and law enforcement assuming it is a false claim or don't believe the situation falls under sexual assault/rape.
