Karen Straughan and Diana Davison do more for men's rights than she does. This woman is a chameleon. Check the video that's linked several times in the comments.

I do agree with you on the point about it being complex. But I think it's more in the head of the individual thinking that they should look that way, especially when there are people that they see in every day life that look nothing like that, that far outweigh the amount of "perfect" looking people. I also agree that peer pressure adds to it, if you look a certain way (like being teased if you're a fat kid in school). But that being said, I still have to say that blaming the cartoon/toy/TV show…
/r/MensRights29/06/19 07:51 PM
1

But where does that come from, really? Does it come from portrayals in toys, tv, and movies? Or does it stem from parents not teaching their kids properly? That's my point. To blame self esteem issues on fictional characters instead of your upbringing is asinine. Fictional characters and their looks and abilities have existed for a long time, even in oral storytelling. The mental issue falls in when people can't distinguish reality from fiction.

Every kid wants to be their hero, sure. I used to pretend I was Megatron with a gun on my arm by having a paper towel holder taped to my arm. But I knew that I couldn't grow up to be a Transformer. I also would pretend I was the Hulk. I also knew that you couldn't be the Hulk, no matter how much I decided to irradiate myself. It was fun to wish, but when you become old enough, you realize that it's not real life. If you're still trying to look like a piece of plastic in your 20's and 30's, then …

Funny thing is, Barbie wasn't about her body...it was about the clothing and accessories. Her body is basically that of a mannequin. I don't see feminists shouting about how it turned them into consumers. And us guys also had Transformers. I don't see any men wishing that they turned into a truck.
/r/MensRights29/06/19 06:42 AM
2

One is a toy. The other is doing bodily harm. One you can teach your child the difference between reality and fiction. The other is forcing bodily harm on your child. I was a kid who played with Transformers. Not once did I want my chest to be made of glass, or my penis a trigger.
/r/MensRights29/06/19 06:39 AM
2

I always thought that was steel, not leather. Doesn't change your point though.
/r/MensRights29/06/19 06:35 AM
1

Here's the thing though...toys are modeled after superheroes....fictional characters. Teach the child to emulate what the superheroes believe in, not what they look like. I grew up loving the Hulk, but I knew I couldn't look like him or be as strong as him, even if I decided to get irradiated. So as a kid I would fantasize about being that strong, but understood that it couldn't happen.
/r/MensRights29/06/19 06:35 AM

What you're failing to understand is that it's not the cartoon's creator's fault. It's bad parenting if your child can't distinguish reality from fiction. You're supposed to teach the child that the hero's actions can be duplicated on a smaller scale in real life. You teach the child that you don't have to lift a mountain to be a good person like He Man. But you can have his values.

The problem is that how do you turn someone who does so much charity for kids into a heel? As much as I'd love to see him turn, I doubt even Vince would be that ruthless to have those kids hero turn into a villain. Hogan turning worked because all the kids that once followed the Demandments were pretty much all grown up and cynical. Cena's fans are still kids.

I too loved He Man. But I think part of the problem for me was that by 1986 I was 12, I already moved to Transformers, and then Nintendo hit. It was like Nintendo was the gateway into adolescence and my teen years where we were too old to play with toys.

I think I've dealt with this before. Lost all of my friends, and she had me going in circles. Was also cheating on me behind my back. I never had a good relationship with my family, but she drove the wedge further. Oh definitely. I used to work overnights. Granted, shopping at 24 hour supermarkets was awesome since there was no crowded aisles, but you start to get pretty zombie like. Plus you're the one still ready to party after 2AM on the weekend and all of your friends are ready to call it a night. That really sucks.

Depends on how strenuous my day was. Sometimes I get home and after I shower, I get a nap for an hour or so. Then I'm up until about 10. I average about 4-5 hours a night, plus what I got for the nap. If I don't nap, I may be in bed between 9 and 10.

I don't hate women. I hate what they've done to me. My mother gave me up at birth. This is the most depressing part. And I'd contest the whole: They do love you, as long as the conditions they loved you for are still met. Anytime those conditions change, so does the love. because yeah, they love alright. But you don't even need to change any of the conditions. You can be exactly the same as when they fell for you, and if some Chad comes along that gives her the tingles, then the love goes. Women are fickle liars who are only with people until their usefulness goes away.

This was the hardest one for me because I figured that there had to be decent individual women out there somewhere. I'm now 42 years old, been in LTR's with about 12 women starting from when I was 18, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM CHEATED. None of them could explain to me why. I will take Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace over Dirk Benedict any day of the week. While I love the newer BSG, the whole angel angle killed it for me. Religion is Ronald Moore's weakness. Plus, I give Dirk some slack since it was a cheesy late 70's Star Wars wanna be story about Mormonism vs the gripping tale we got later on. He'll always be Face to me, anyway.

I don't know if I agree with you about Elba being understated. His Heimdall in the Thor films was heroic, and awesome. I'm sure given the right direction, he'd be perfect for Bond.

Would you think that someone in a book named Mario Batali would be an Irishman? Or what if a book was written about Dikembe Motumbo, would you think that he'd be an Irishman as well? See where I'm going with this? James Bond is a white sounding name. Is it possible that Bond could be black? Sure, but there's a bigger chance that since he's from England, and was written in 1953, when the majority of Britain was white, that it would make sense to assume Bond would also be white.

The answer is that it's easier for people to cheat. Reason being that if they cheat and don't like what they got when they cheated, they can always go back to the old stand by until they find something else that they think is better. Is it a shitty way to work? For the person being cheated on, yes. For the cheater, it's a way to go without ever having to be single, and having your cake and eating it too.

I don't know where this took place, but where I'm from, it doesn't matter if you want to step outside. Either they'll wait for you outside or pummel the shit out of you in the bar. They don't care about assault charges, and suing them gets you nothing because they won't pay.

I like to think of it more as the sunglasses from "They Live". Your fellow man that you're trying to help will fight you tooth and nail (and suplex your ass on asphalt) because he doesn't want to put the damn sunglasses on. Once he does though, he sees that it's everywhere.

A co worker from her old job. Funny how it wasn't just two random dudes that she didn't know from anywhere. My money's on her being a cheat, and since the husband is spineless, she figures why go to all the work of sneaking around trying to find time with the one dude, when she could just convince him it was cool to ba…

Fellas dont get married if you cant afford to spend on your wife and child. FTFY. It's a new millennium. Women are working and getting paid the same as men. That doesn't mean that you have to never buy anything for your wife, but it also doesn't mean that she can't buy for you either. If she's not working when you marry her, then your statement is valid. Otherwise, it's the child that can't afford to pay for itself.

One man's piece of ass, is another man's pain in the ass. When I was engaged and hadn't swallowed the pill, there were times I'd get so disgusted with my ex that I wouldn't fuck even if she wanted to. I tend to agree. No one realizes the underlying reasons for Christianity/Right Wing Politics to want monogamous relationships and turning the other cheek. Monogamous heterosexual relationships benefit the government because the idea is that they will bear children, who will learn their ways and follow their ways as well as put money back into the system. Christianity thrives on churchgoing folks who teach their children that it's right to give money to the church. Homosexual relationships don't …

Depends on what you consider successful. For example, some people think that getting laid is success. In that case, going MGTOW really isn't something that RP would promote for someone who's unsuccessful at getting laid. It's just an easy way out of the game. On the other hand, if a fulfilling life long relationship is what you're after, and you've spent years trying to foster this, even using RP tactics and still the women you find just aren't up to snuff, then MGTOW is the route for you. It's …

My guess is that it depends on delivery. If you honestly act like it doesn't bother you that it came up, then it could turn out to make her feel like you weren't interested in asking her out, making her feel like she's got a lower SMV. But if you're in deep conversation and being flirty when this comes up, pulling out that line looks like sour grapes.

Sad thing is that with pasteurization, there is more than one method, but each has its drawbacks. There's one way that holds milk at 145 degrees Fahrenheit for a half hour, which preserves some of the characteristics of raw milk (flavor, body, etc), but this is too slow for mass production. So, they opt for "Ultra Pasteurization" which is holding the milk at 161 degrees F for 15 seconds. Sure, this kills all the bacteria, but it also kills the enzymes, and a bunch of nutrients. So you see the dilemma? She's the one making the choice to carry for the 9 months, not him. If he wants an abortion, and she doesn't, he's not making her carry to term. So he's paying for her decision.

If the guy used a condom and she still got pregnant, you've removed the last option for him. The woman can have sex whenever she wants, and still use abortion as birth control. That's not what abortion is for, imo, but it's still used that way. With your scenario, the onus is still on the man to choose to not have sex. If a woman decides to have sex, doesn't want kids, both parties are using birth control and still somehow she gets pregnant, that mans fate is in her hands. Should she think that …

The fact still remains that if he doesn't want the child, yet she does, he has no choice in the matter. This is why I've taken every preventative measure to not impregnate anyone. It's the only time I have a choice and can't be trapped. That being said, not every means of contraception is 100% effective, so there's still a chance that I could be trapped. The way to make this work would be to still give the woman autonomy over her body, but have an opt out for the man should she decide to go full…

I think the point of the comic that you're missing is that unless the woman decides to get an abortion, the man has no choice but to be a father. The reverse is also true. If he wants to be a father, gets his S/O pregnant, she decides not to have it, it's her choice to have the abortion. Dick move? Sure, because she didn't ask him, but by law, it's not his choice.

Social cuckoldry has been going on in the states for ages as well. Hell, back in the 80's when hair bands were a thing, girls would have access to the band's tour bus, and their boyfriends would wait outside while the girls "got autographs" - which was basically them getting fucked in the bus.

You can promise sex all you want, but in the long run, I can take care of myself faster, and better than you ever could." Sure, this may not be a strategy …

There was a video of him floating around the net where he was shoving a banana up his ass.

Let's not forget to account for honesty. Who is going to publicly proclaim that they regret having children, especially when it's more than likely that their children are still alive. It would be embarrassing to have to answer to your son/daughter when they question their regret.

Why should we give them what they want? Why model ourselves to be their ideal? Why sacrifice the things we enjoy so that we can stick our dicks in a wet hole every so often? You can be a socially mobile man without ever having to fuck anyone. You can have money and power and be homosexual, if you like. Or, not even care about sex at all. Letting your sexual prowess define who you are, lessens a man's true worth. We are more than who we fuck. We are men. When a man spends his free time reading, l…

Preach on. Living on my own, coming and going as I please, and not being tied down to the pack mentality. I come and go as I please. If a venue or group gathering has no benefit for me (whether it be enjoyment and companionship or picking up) then I'm not going to be a part of it. I choose the people I hang with carefully, and I don't always go where they want. I'd like to read that link when you get it.

I'll be honest. I stumbled upon this sub in one of those "dark corners of reddit post", and I subbed because there was a lot of stuff that I agreed with. Now I've finally found a post that exemplifies where I am now. I'm 38, have been single for the past 10 years. I'm not going after ANY women, nor do I yearn for a family or any such thing. My friends are there because I serve a purpose to them, and they in turn serve a purpose for me. Same goes for men or women. I've lived on my own like this f…

So, in a perfect world, this is how it should have played out: M - "Hey, we're going to Restaurant X tonight! I hear they have a great selection of wines!" F - "Do they have any vegetarian dishes? I don't eat meat" M - "I'll ask when we get there. I'm sure they do" (most places do nowadays) ...and if the restaurant doesn't, always have a plan b. Plan b also works in a non-reservation restaurant that has a long line. OR: M - "Hey, we're going to Restaurant X tonight! I hear they have a great sele…

If he hit her back hard enough, she might think twice about raising her hand to him again. But then again, he probably would've been put in jail, and she would've been the saint. I'm sorry, but if a woman is coming at me trying to fight me like a man, I may let her get the first punch, then I'm gonna fight her like a man.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
