The only statement of yours I have ever contested was what I quoted: "It cost my friend, with insurance in a red state almost 20k to birth a child in a hospital." As long as we agree that this statement is not true and what you meant to say was "it cost my friend 20k in insurance premiums, co-pays, and deductibles to birth a child in a hospital" then we're on the same page. I am talking about the cost of child delivery. These are completely different things you and I are talking about. 2) The link you are showing is someone searching for health plans on Healthcare.gov. Insurance premiums are insane all over the country if you're buying the plans on your own. Getting the plans through your company is completely different story. I think you need to educate yourself on how health insurance actually works before you criticize it like this. If you truly have actual, real health care coverage then you should never ever ever be spending more than 3ishk a year on medical bills unless you are a genuine idiot. I would love to see this person's insurance plan and the EoB. I pay a $50 premium for my single insurance and just had a surgery that was 25k and after insurance I only paid 2k and will be having another surgery in a couple months which will be completely free for me because I have hit my out of pocket max.
