Stuck in LimboIf you were single and you met her today, would you date her? If she told you she wasn't attracted to you, but you were fun to be around, would you consider her a love interest? It sounds like no. Since the financials aren't an issue to you, this is about your relationship with her as she is now, not as she was. This is the sunk cost fallacy. It's our tendency to continue an endeavor because we've invested in it (time, money, emotion), even when the current costs outweigh the benefits. I lived t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/05/23 12:51 AM

How am I supposed to restore my sanity?Holy shit dude! That's terrible. My first thought is that in a twisted way, and obviously at the expense of your sanity, it's a good thing that she's not around your child anymore. At least he's around the parent that is setting a good example. It also sounds like this is all about her choices and not yours. I know that might not seem like much of a consolation right now, but at some point you're going to look back and realize that she's just a straight up shitty person, and her being gone from … | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/05/23 12:20 AM
Vocational reviewI might need to go that route too with my STBX. My lawyer is going to try to negotiate with hers because it would be a waste of time and money, but if we can't get the numbers where we think they should be, I'll request one. I'm in the Bay Area too, and $3.5-4K is what I've been told. If it could result in significant alimony savings, you'll make that money back soon. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/23 04:27 AM
she's finally moving out and...My brother's ex made this request, and he frankly didn't want to be around her anyway. so he had 2 of their formerly mutual friends come to his house ahead of time. He walked them through the house detailing what she was allowed to take, and then he left. The 2 friends oversaw the move and kept him updated by phone as to what was going on. The Ex knew this was going to happen, and it worked for everyone involved. Maybe an option for you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/12/22 08:00 PM
Dilemma.. Lose out now or in the future?I'd consider getting out now before she drowns you in even more debt. Gather as much financial information as you can and go see an attorney so you can get a clear picture as to how this will fall out in your jurisdiction. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/12/22 11:48 PM
For the men who initiated and filed for divorceI knew there was a constant weight of my barren marriage on my everyday life, but had basically learned to manage. I thought. Then I had a couple of stressors come up in my life that on their own would have been totally manageable. However, I suddenly felt like I was drowning. These new small stressors made me realize how barely above water my head was, and how little extra bandwidth I had. That's when I truly realized how unhealthy my marriage was for me and that I had to be done. 25 years and … | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/11/22 05:39 AM
