They're small creatures from the movie Gremlins. They look like little Furbies. If you expose them to bright light, water, and feed them after midnight they become evil little destructive creatures that no longer look or behave like Furbies.

People aren't claiming the judge is biased, they are claiming that the bar for proving libel is very high, and - accordingly - one should not conflate the failure to prove a libel case with criminal guilt.

It seems asinine to pretend that loading 50 lbs bags "isn't heavy" for the average 63 year old woman.

If you check the link provided, the controlled wage gap (the wage gap when you control for things like job title, years experience, location, etc.) it specifies $.98 for a woman vs $1 for a man. I tried clicking on the methodology portion of the site (specifically to see what they did control for and what they didn't control for), but it says "not found." At $.98 vs a dollar, a couple things immediately spring to mind - is it possible that controlling for additional variables would close the gap…

Wow, shocker - the defendant in a civil case is trying to defend themselves. Why are all these comments treating this "news" as if it is so profound? Of course they are going to say this. Has anyone here bothered to, I don't know, actually check the information? Even the USMNT had this to say about the so-called "fact sheet": “The USMNT players were not impressed with US Soccer Federation president Carlos Cordeiro’s letter made public on Monday. The Federation downplays contributions to the spor…

The whole point of consent is it should be BEFORE. It should, generally speaking. But, like I touched on before, consent is something that needs context. Like you said, what about cases of domestic abuse where the victim refuses to press charges? Can we, in good conscience, say "he/she consented, therefore there's nothing wrong here?" Of course not. However, consider a married couple walking around their home after work. One of them approaches the other, without exchanging words or confirming co…

I don't think Demi is in the right here (clearly), but if the victim is legitimately fine with what happened, then they are not the victim. That is how consent works. He is free to give it as he sees fit. Demi is playing an extremely dangerous game doing something like this, obviously, but without actually understanding her relationship with Max (I don't even know who that is), it is irresponsible of us to jump to wild conclusions. And yes, this happens the other way too. It would be extremely u…

It is real, but as your alluding to, there is a misconception about what the wage gap is. A lot of people think it's different wages for the same position, with the same background, in the same area, etc (and, in fact, for political reasons some people purposefully misrepresent it that way, which is unfortunate). When you control for those factors, it all but disappears (and arguably does disappear within the margin for error). Women are just making different choices than men, though. Those choi…

Downvotes because you're being asinine. She purposefully manipulated someone who wasn't of sound mind. She took advantage of someone who wasn't in a position to think clearly. How can you be a worse person than terribly fucking with people who can't defend themselves? And it's not as if she was even remorseful - she continued to seek attention unapologetically in the wake of his suicide.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
