Yeah the civil union thing. That's a shame. I spoil my husband because I told him he didn't deserve everything he went through. I wish I could have met him first but I'm here now. I hope alimony becomes abolished soon. It takes 2 adults to make household decisions.

This is why I always recommend prenups if people do want to get married. It's not gonna protect everything but it can protect some things. Definitely meet someone who has the same values and doesn't just see you as a piggy bank.

She did that during the first hearing. Been going through this for the past 3 years. She said he didn't deserve to see his kids cause he's a horrible father (judge saw through it). The first judge was awesome but I don't know why he didn't hear this trial. This was just about alimony modification. The magistrate basically said "this is her salary" even though his lawyer proved she was hiding funds and statements. Magistrate knew she didn't turn in all her financial statements and just felt bad f…

Indeed. My husband was miserable working every day (even weekends) for 12+ years. It got to a point where he said he just wanted to die. I told him, "you have to find someone with the same values as you". I love to work. I love doing the overtime, working 3 jobs to afford my hobby and vacations. I expected to date someone who makes their own money and can afford to take trips with me. I did find that in him. We both love to work cause now we have goals together. Unfortunately he does provide her…

I think what's crazy is she gets a lot of help from the government yet the magistrate was like "well she obviously can't afford to live on her own so award her alimony". If you're getting income from different sources that total to over 6k every month and you're still broke then the problem is your spending.

You would think so but the way it works in this state is pretty ass backwards.

Yep. I hate this whole "they should be able to have the same lifestyle as they did during the marriage". It just doesn't make sense to me. Being the breadwinner doesn't necessarily mean you're rich. For example, my husband had to keep working 15hrs a day M-Sunday because his ex-wife kept putting them in debt. He would set a budget for the week and she'd surpass that budget by 500 or more. My husband was abused for 15 years. He was called stupid and not a man if he didn't provide. She berated him…

Of course! I will always advocate for your rights. I've seen how unfair the system was to both my husband and friends. I will do what I can to spread awareness but I understand the bullying and such that comes with it.

Completely agree. My husband's ex never watched the kids, racked up his credit cards, and expected him to watch the kids overnight after working 15hr days M-Sunday. Unfortunately this all falls through the cracks due to the judicial system not being able to overlook any and all pieces of evidence. You hope they do but they don't.

Highly against alimony as a woman myself. It should only be based on the ability to work. I'm a feminist for context.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
