The idea that men are strong and capable is built into the culture of Judaeo-Christian theologies. I think that kind of supports what I'm saying. If men really are viewed that way than a male would not even be someone they'd consider a victim. Furthermore with that mindset, if they are so strong and capable than it would by default make them the aggressor. I agree neither the poster or narrative as a whole is with malice, but rather with ignorance to the reality of spousal abuse.

I was writing as if someone at HuffPo was reading the small biography some writers put under their name at the bottom. Not necessarily to "identify" but rather to inform the person reviewing their article. In a situation like this I assume writers know HuffPo's "requirements" so they may add the fact they're trans in their biography as to get published. If your sexuality is used to discriminate against you I feel it's equally egregious it's used to validate you. That, in a sense, is what HuffPo …

Depending on the type of social media you follow you will see a lot of "fat chicks" jokes/memes. With that said I agree the outrage and complaints about it being sexist would only come from women. I don't think men really give a fuck if a woman makes that joke. We have better shit to worry about.
