There should be a balance. Everyone, doubly so for any professional, likely has their phone within arms reach during normal hours. There was a stat that showed that 90% of texts are read within 3 minutes of the phone receiving it. If someone texts you a question --- there should be a two-hour window to reply. When it takes longer than that, I assume that they are playing the "waiting/aloof game." Emails are a different story.

It depends on a multitude of factors. One of these is attractiveness. The "strong and silent" archetype may work well for a very handsome man but will result in invisibility for the average male. The same thing with personality. Don't deviate too much from your norm/baseline or you will seem awkward and your appearance will seem contrived. Focus on strengthening your talents rather than improving weaknesses.

The marriage tax break is BS in many cases too. It generally works only if one spouse makes more than the other. I'm in a high tax bracket and I did the relevant calculations. If I married my smart female friend who is also a relatively high-earner, our taxes would go up $20,000/yr!
