The idea that men in positions of power would not engage in misandrist policies is complete nonsenseIn Canada we have have a parliament that is 70% male. That has implemented, The Minister for Women and Gender Equality Canada provides +400M to the Minister for Women and Gender Equality each year The department WAGE (Women and Gender Equality) The Pay Equity Act that doesn't allow Male Job classes to seek pay equity The Employment Equity Act that protects Women, POC, Indigenous and those with Accessibility needs. Multiple Canadian corporations have a female dominated workforce. They have no req… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 31/05/25 05:14 PM

Status of IPV and DV in Canada for Male VictimsYeah Earl is a great example of how Canada has failed male victims of DV. He killed himself 11 years ago. I wrote to my Canadian MP about Earl and how in Canada we still only have 19 beds for male DV victims. His staff did see the value in my message. But not much has happened since and sadly I worry not much will happen. But I will continue to persist and plan to send him more letters demonstrating the facts above. If I can convince my own MP, I hope that can materialize into an excess of DV sh… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 29/09/24 11:37 PM

Status of IPV and DV in Canada for Male VictimsYeah, Justin and his organizations seem to be the best sources of advocacy for Men's support centers. But to be a little pessimistic, there organization is still very small and like you said they rely on charitable funding and not direct funding from the GOC. I'll need to do research on how much funding is given to Women's Shelters and DV shelters in Canada. But I felt the need to write up my post as this is a problem the GOC can solve with just a little bit of funding to build more DV shelters,… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 26/09/24 09:26 PM
30 feminist organizations protested the creation of a foundation to help male victims of domestic violence in Valencia, SpainWow your right. New wording of article 49 1- People with disabilities exercise the rights provided for in this Title under conditions of real and effective freedom and equality. The special protection necessary for said exercise will be regulated by law. 2- Public powers will promote policies that guarantee full personal autonomy and social inclusion of people with disabilities, in universally accessible environments. Likewise, they will encourage the participation of their organizations, in the… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 01/06/24 07:25 PM
What discrimination do men face in Canada?Male genital mutilation takes away the bodily autonomy of the infant male. Circumcision, the more common form of MGM can be accessed when the individual is of age and is able to consent without pressure from there parents. But any form of MGM or circumcision performed on anyone under the age of consent is a violation of ones bodily autonomy. Only medically necessary procedures on the genitalia of boys should be allowed before a fair age of consent. You do not own your child and do not have the m… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 09/04/24 10:06 PM
What discrimination do men face in Canada? That's why I mentioned no other protected class can be charged differently. There are cases where other demographics/groups have differences in there recklessness. Yet it is only men, not a different race, creed, nationality, religion etc that is charged differently. Just Men. MGM=Male Genital Mutilation. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 09/04/24 01:45 AM
What discrimination do men face in Canada? The pay equity act of most Provinces and Canada only protect women. Such as it is only Female job classes that have a legal requirement to rectify pay equity if the female job class is found to be underpaid. But if the Male job classes are found to be underpaid by the same metrics, then there is no legal requirement to rectify the pay. [1] Most political parties have a Women's Committee that seeks to engage women's issues and getting more women into politics. Canada has a Minster for Women and G… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 06/04/24 10:35 PM
I know this will be controversial here but this is so silly 🤦♂️Of course diversity is a good thing. But artificially creating diversity by giving privileges to specific groups due to there immutable characteristics and limiting those same privileges to other is not okay. We justify DEI programs for equity deserving groups but then limit/remove access to these same programs to other less equity deserving groups. Such as Canada has a Minister for Women and Gender Equality but no Minister for Men and Gender Equality. Canada is literally giving Women better acc… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 01/03/24 05:14 AM
What double standards do men face?Section 15 paragraph 2 is not applied to all Men in Canada but does apply for all Women. Section 15(2) (2) Section (1) does not preclude any law, program or activity that has as its object the amelioration of conditions of disadvantaged individuals or groups including those that are disadvantaged because of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability. https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/csj-sjc/rfc-dlc/ccrf-ccdl/check/art15.html#:~:text=15.,or%20mental%… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 19/02/24 05:25 PM
Earl Silverman: 10 years onWe currently pay taxes and those taxes are meant to fund programs like this. It is not just to have the Goverment of Canada funding shelters, affordable housing and other programs solely for Women. While Male support is literally none existent. How is it just that Womens Programs and support is funded using tax payer money but not Mens Programs and support? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 26/04/23 10:52 PM
57% of women - including 70% of those 18 to 24 - identify as feminists in Canada, the highest number in decadesMen are excluded in Canada today. One bigger example of this was how the report on missing indigenous Women and Girls decided to exclude Men and Boys from the report. Even though Men and Boys were going missing at an equal rate to the Women and Girls. | /r/MensRights | 18/03/23 02:43 PM
