Being a public figure explains why his identity could lawfully be reported sooner, but it doesn’t answer the fairness point. The complainant has lifelong anonymity regardless of the outcome, while a suspect can be publicly identified before any conviction and, even if acquitted, may never fully escape the allegation. I simply questioned whether the current anonymity rules are applied fairly.
