This is so true that I feel like I wrote this, right on man. This is great advice. I miss college. I would add don't be intimidated by the other guys in a girl's social circle. It may be easy to compare yourself to them to find faults with yourself but don't even bother to start.

I've just found that my favorite people, the ones I totally respect, treat everyone with kindness. You can certainly do it without being a beta about it, too. Proffering kindness has nothing to do with allowing people to manipulate you or having weak and shakeable confidence. It takes a great deal of security and maturity to be kind to someone who has harmed you, but people notice this. Besides being a good person, trying to be kind, and think from other people's perspective will square your inn…

I think delineating between her being your friend and you being her friend is important in this circumstance. She really doesn't seem to have much to offer you in a friendship, no mutuality left. So, you could be her friend but she would be a really poor friend to you. Another way to think about this: if she were to figuratively "arrive at your doorstep in need" you could provide. It does not sound like she could, where you to arrive at hers. A friendship is people latitudinally equal, and a gre…

I'd be real interested in you writing some examples of how you would push compliance through sex. I assume you don't mean just stick it in the butt, and then make expectant eye contact when they don't like it. Would you mind expanding?

Not at all, but you probably shouldn't be sure you want a relationship with a girl the very first time you meet her. Its totally alright to be interested, but if your mentality is "I'm going to girlfriend this girl" right off the bat and there's no connection the girl will likely be able to sense that and feel a little weirded out. If there is a connection then she is likely to be feeling many of the same things, so when you start considering a relationship it'll be natural, so she'll be excited…

I dunno if this applies to you but something I've noticed is that if I have an ulterior motive - getting a number, getting a date, getting laid, selling stuff in my store, whatever - people subconsciously can sense that. Getting into the mindset to go into a conversation genuinely just wanting to connect with another person, and then letting the other things flow from that naturally is what I've started trying to do. Definitely works, and the connections are more genuine and likely to move furth…

It sounds like you're letting your fear of failure and awkwardness get in the way of action. I'm in a somewhat similar situation, and I know that is a big part of it for me. Just remember there are no awkward situations, just people who get awkward in situations. Be confident, make a move, and be ready to brush failure off and settle back into normalcy. Own your environment. For my situation I need to get my inner game a little more squared away before I'll be comfortable enough to not be awkwar…

Its not what you do, but who you are that determines if you are an AFC or not. Stop faking it, stop trying to prove you're more interesting than you are, and just accept and appreciate who you are right now. Harshness breeds competence.

I have never once in my life found cheesy, insincere, goofy, quirky or wacky to work with women of high character. They see it as fake, insincere, and generally know its bullshit used to cover up insecurities. Women with more insecurity than you may see it as making you approachable. But, fuck dealing with wholly insecure women. This is based on my personal experience, and my criticism may be harsh but its much less harsh than repeated failure with the women you ache for.

I posted a question for discussion along these lines last week and got some really great responses from the community. I promise I'm not trying to karma whore, its just oddly relevant. Essentially the tl;dr is that, bottomline what it takes to be attractive is confidence coupled with emotional security. So if what you are doing to be "you" is coming from a place of insecurity (like being a goofball to cover up social anxiety or something) then you're not really being authentic, right? But say yo…

I like letting her fill the awkward silence, it maintains a controlling stake in the interaction, but I think OP is referring to a social environment where if a girl is uninterested she can easily acquire a new person to talk with.. unlike a date where she is somewhat committed to you. But I think if you talk slowly and confidently during a conversation, and the girl feels awkward and decides to leave, she'll feel you were not the awkward one. I don't know, I'm terrible at social conversation an…

You've got it man. Your last point is exactly one of my reasons; I want to attract higher quality people to me, and I want to become more of a leader among my friends. People get awkward and uncomfortable in situations they do not feel confident they are in control of. I have no problem being more in control of my environment than others; I prefer it. Weird thing about admitting a weakness with women on the internet is the anonymity.

I'm entirely uninterested in girl who is so lacking that she would run off crying if I thought a dress was not flattering. Quality > quantity.

My go to answer to a qualifying question (do I look fat, am I too tall, etc etc etc) is a shrug and a throaty "Ehh," combined with a quizzical head tilt. Like 'I'm not sure,' but sarcastic like 'I am sure but not going to tell.' I'm just trying to broaden my options and mental capacity.

Or just get a properly fitted, fashionable suit. Fit is 80% of the game, the other 20% is your fitness. A poor fitting suit is code for being a total Melvin. EDIT: I see the discussion has already covered MFA.

I won't smoke, my job tests fairly regularly and there's zero tolerance. HOWEVER I know exactly what you're talking about, my best friend and I get drunk as fuck (alone or together, but not in a group) and experience the same thing. Call it a "spirit journey" but when you're not coherent enough to lie its impressive what you learn about your subconscious. As for implementing it in a day to day, I'm just trying to get over natural denial. I'll be a lot tougher mentally if I just recognize everyth…

Exactly! I'm not exactly looking for lots of hook ups but I'd like to just grow to the point where I can take others opinions and evaluate them for what they are, and then allow them to affect me if I decide they warrant action. This just seemed like the next step to being a wholly confident man.

See, here's my thought with that. It places me above shit tests. Like things I know and realize are shit tests I would likely respond to by saying something like "Why are you trying to test me?" Or just not even responding to the questions. If she asks me to hold a drink by way of shit test, then I reply honestly, "no thanks" and move on to another subject. EDIT/UPDATE: I don't mean purposefully fail the shit test. What I do mean is not having a rehearsed response for one, not having a rehearsed…

Well basically what brought it around is more a challenge to myself to become a better man. I realized, the more that I got into the game, that it was really, actually, about creating a more powerful, more complete, more mature person in yourself. Lying to oneself, and to others, is detrimental it seems, when I view So it seemed like the next logical step when I realized that I couldn't be confident in myself and truly appreciate what I believe, and what I feel without evaluating it relative to …
