If the partner with custody is able to work and care for the children then yes, they should "get a fucking job" and not live off of the ex-partner. Only in a completely depraved society is it acceptable for a woman find a man's presence so insufferable that she must legally divorce but his house and his money? She's got no problem with those sticking around. So the law where I live splits all assets earned and capital gained during the marriage 50/50 by default.
