I had a tinder date 5 years ago, we had sex on the first date. And we get married in a few months. The whole timing game is bullshit; if the mood takes you, great! If it doesn’t, great! There should be other filters that weed out the “pump and dump”ing types.

There is definitely a bias towards letting women off the hook for this (see the plethora of social experiment YouTube videos where the crowd doesn’t react until he hits back in self-defence). I was going to write a comment about how the majority of people I’ve met in my life don’t actually take this view, but on reflection, yep, they did. Have too many examples from when my female ex was violent towards me, and people just found it funny/didn’t have the same outrage as they would’ve if I did it …

Again with the lack of actual examples! “... ... echo echo ECHO echo echo ... ...”

That is true; I can see the overall sentiment, I am probably nit-picking a bit!

This is a tricky one. Some of them (suicide rates of males) are 100% legitimate examples of under-recognition of problems men face. Some of them however (treatment for autism in schools?) just feel like they’re there to make the list longer, autism is more common in boys than girls, so of course there will be more treatment. If anything the prevalence of treatment (not just cases of autism) is evidence of men rightly receiving the help they need.

I think some people (not necessarily OP) have trouble figuring out what this sub is for.

Whether it’s hypocrisy, denial or something else, this meme is evidence of nothing to anyone. Just contributes to making this an echo chamber sub.

“A place to share real-life examples...” says the sub description. There are enough echo chambers on reddit already.

Again, not an actual example.

I’m not denying that there may be hypocrisy there, but this meme doesn’t show an example of it.

This is a meme, I’m pretty sure this sub is for actual examples of FSW (else there’s a risk of being an echo chamber!).

I think in posting this, you’ve shown that actually you blame them by saying they blame men for everything. This is not even slightly against men; in fact it says that “any toy that is not a sex toy can be used by anyone if they want to”.

I guess the takeaway view here (rightly or wrongly) is that the baby belongs to the woman until after birth, I.e. it’s her decision what to do, and the guy is charged with “terminating someone else’s baby”, which would rightly be murder given a solid and reliable definition of “ownership” of the baby.

I can understand the idea that (IN THE PAST) having something of value that you own when you personally can’t own an awful lot else. BUT NOT IN 2019. This is now having cake and eating it too.

Take my upvote, I don’t know why you don’t have more.

Oh I’ve just googled... why use 007? Why not a different storyline?

James Bond?

But it’s not just a way of referring to gay people, it comes with the “disgusting perverts” bit. I suppose the question is more “why do you feel they deserve to be “disgusting perverts”?

Why? It’s a slur, why use it?

If that trait is relevant to the conversation (which I see here that it is), a gay man?

To be fair, it started hiring based on previous hirings rather than purely on competence, so those two things can’t be teased apart enough to draw a conclusion on this one.

Isn’t this “feminism doesn’t stop when” as it didn’t stop when?

I think I see where you’re coming from. An interpretation of feminism frequently found on this sub is that if there is a gender-based imbalance of rights/responsibilities, it is always in men’s favour. A conclusion one could draw from the fact that this article exists (and the assumption that an equivalent article about male abusers would be far less socially acceptable) is that women are treated more favourably by society in this regard. Or on the other hand (as you rightly observed), it’s dism…

Sorry I don’t follow. Who is dismissing male victims of sexual assault?

It’s not, it’s highlighting a double standard ignored by feminism.

I have literally no idea but it smacks of putting you in a box and making assumptions about you, then reading every other word and throwing back whatever emotions they have built up back at you!
