Uh, it matters to people who study anthropology because it furthers our understanding of humanity? To think anthropology is somehow ethnocentric is literally retarded; by definition it is the exact opposite. Why the fuck would you just go off assuming the reason to care about these things is to say one race is better than another? Is it because you're trying to push an agenda? Hmm? The only thing I can tell you bud is that we should be celebrating diversity, not ignoring it.

That's simply untrue, there are many remote areas there and the people who live there are pretty isolated from outsiders. But either way, would it be significant? If you ever get the chance you should visit Oaxaca, Tabasco, Chiapas, and the Yucatan. 90% of everybody there is full indigenous from a variety of groups. Sure there may be a minute amount of other blood floating around but many of them are 100% indigenous and many of the people who have a tiny bit of other ancestry are indistinguishable from the ones who don't.
