CMV: Scientific Surveys are just organized collections of anecdotes, so anecdotes are a valid piece of evidence.Surveys are supposed to be randomized to some extent. They used to have random sampling of landlines, now there are a few updated methods. The anecdotes on the redpill are not random musings from men as a whole. They are a very very specific population with motivation to provide certain information which probably does not represent an objective reality. Summation 2 main problems: not random, highly suspect motivations. You can use the ancedotes as anecdotes for people who post field reports on t… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/17 06:27 PM
CMV: Scientific Surveys are just organized collections of anecdotes, so anecdotes are a valid piece of evidence. What is the motivation for posting on the redpill? The people posting are beyond compromised for a slew of reasons. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/17 11:35 AM
CMV: Scientific Surveys are just organized collections of anecdotes, so anecdotes are a valid piece of evidence. You can't, which is why theoretically the more that respond the better (which is actually another problem with surveys, those who respond are already a separate population). Ultimately, surveys are used when there are no other alternatives for evidence gathering. They are acknowledged to be "the best we can do" for certain issues. One ancedote, particularly from the redpill, is worse than useless. They are also "open ended" rather than checking boxes. Given the presumed motivations for creating … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/17 11:24 AM
CMV: Scientific Surveys are just organized collections of anecdotes, so anecdotes are a valid piece of evidence. Are you talking about anecdotes shared on the red pill? Those are irrevocably flawed, not only because the poster is either a troll or is posting what he thinks will be relevant to that sub, in particular. Anecdotes can actually be super valuable, for instance, in some rare diseases case reports are very important. But, anecdotes in terms of what is genuinely at best a "pick up artist" subreddit, those are even lower than what is considered a case report. You have to consider a) anonymity b) con… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/17 04:13 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"How often do you think that happens, compared to actual rape? Just curious. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 05:43 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"No, I meant people applying for the same jobs should be held to same standards. If a woman applicant can achieve that standard using different means, she's just as qualified and shouldn't be discriminated against. If she can't get the task accomplished in the standard amount of time, cut her loose! I was just pointing out certain tasks that have traditionally been accomplished a certain way with male strength, could theoretically be accomplished with female strength but in a different way. And i… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 05:35 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"Ok, I do then. Men: don't fuck women you don't trust. Is that good enough? Because from the women's perspective, its be careful who go out with, and make sure you let your friends/family know where you are. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 05:31 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"Dude - I would never have used it if I knew people felt that way about it. Of course there's the subconscious implication, but I think that's intentional to make people think about what they consider to be "masculine." Honestly, I agree that what is promoted as "masculine" in popular culture is goddamn bullshit, and frankly damaging. I wish more men would realize this. It's like what feminism did for women - to realize what is "feminine" is not necessarily what you are, and that's ok! But it's s… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 05:28 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"Actually, I don't know much about the hypothetical rapist, and was just trying to answer the question with the standard pragmatic answer. Heterosexual women are physically vulnerable in the dating world, that's as simple as it gets. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 05:13 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"Uuhhh wut? I haven't, sorry. What I do think is worthwhile is to test women on the same task, not necessarily on the same method. If a women can change an 80 pound tire with her legs, she passes. Even if men use their arms to pass the same test. Certain things, we can both do but in different ways due to differing muscle mass and center of gravity. If you can't complete the task in the minimum amount of time, then no, that person shouldn't have that job. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 05:09 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"Yeah, but from who? Their female date? No. The question was about people out in the dating world. I would give the same advice to my gay male friends I give to my female heterosexual friends: Be careful, and call me to update me where you end up. For real, how many lesbians do you think worry about this shit on a first date? I've had a lesbian friend express shock at the precautions most people take before meeting someone. Again, to reiterate, I'm not saying men are inherently violent, just more… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 05:05 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"Actually, nice try, but no, I think people in certain jobs should have the same physical requirements, so long as they can do the job at hand. In some cases, women can do the same job but using different means, and the tests should reflect that. E.g. women marines using their lower body strength to position a tire for changing rather than their upper body strength (hips, using feet to put in place rather than arms). If women can't do the job, then don't fucking hire them, of course. Sorry I'm no… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 05:01 AM
| -1 | CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"It doesn't matter who is perpetrating, but I was addressing the question asked: why are women trained to anticipate violence? I'm not trying to make a sweeping generalization here, I'm pointing out the current pragmatic reality. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 04:58 AM |
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"Oh, I had no idea "toxic masculinity" was offensive! I originally heard it in the context of trying to help men - in Sut Jhally's Tough Guise. It's not supposed to blame men, but rather explain the spiderweb of expectations vs. reality they face. In this case, "masculinity" refers to societal expectations and not actual manhood. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 04:56 AM
| -2 | CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"No, because that's pretty obviously (to me at least) the effect of a bias in our criminal justice system plus poverty. Would I call you stupid for bring a knife or gun into a bad area? No. That's just practical. Why is that so hard to understand? Not all men (or whatever group you want to put there) are violent. But, if I go into a situation I know has increased risk for bodily harm and try to figure out how to protect myself - is that racist/sexist/whatever? No, It's fucking smart. | 3 | CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"Ha, no, quite the opposite man. Men are shown statistically to be "more violent" than women. This includes being victims of violence and perpetrating it. In my original post, if you read it, I tried to get across I don't think this is an inherent "male" trait. Rather, perhaps it has something to do with society's expectations of men. Men are supposed to be stoic, unemotional, but at the same time, protect their honor and dignity. That leads to... violence. Men are more violent according to stati… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 04:41 AM |
Women of PPD, do you feel the same "I would fuck that" sensation that men do?Uhhh or just social norms dude. Calm down, not everything is an internet cliche. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 04:23 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"Who is more likely to perpetrate the murders? Sure, men are more likely to be killed, but who kills them? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 04:22 AM
Women of PPD, do you feel the same "I would fuck that" sensation that men do?Ok, I scanned the responses and I don't see that? The responses are mixed, as I would expect from a mixed audience. All I can offer is my own perspective, and I've always had a mental evaluation of fuckability for everyone (even when I consciously tried not to) since I was wee lass. I don't think this is unique to men or women, I think it's a universal thing. It may be harder to get women to admit it, though. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 04:18 AM
CMV: All men should be taught the theory of "Schrodinger's False Rape Accuser"I probably can't change your view, but I would like to attempt to offer some perspective. The extra careful way we teach women to interact with strangers is born out of the fact that women are more physically vulnerable, in strength. On average, women are not as physically strong as men. It would be (on average) substantially harder for a woman to defend her way out of of a physically threatening situation than a man. Compounding this (I know some people like to pretend it's not real) but, there… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 04:11 AM
Should we "diversify" female oriented fields?Well obviously, traditionally everything was a male profession except for child rearing, I guess. Teaching has been a "women's" profession in America since the early 1800s though. It goes hand in hand with "child rearing." Is that right? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 03:43 AM
What qualities/things do you like about the opposite gender?Honestly, this is a dumb question. There are qualities I like in a partner, but they aren't sex-specific. There are things I like about men in particular, but they're all physical because the qualities I really seek are more about what kind of person you are and not your genitals. If you wanted to ask about what qualities I find attractive they are, in order: honesty, wit, kindness, intelligence. If you want to know what's physically attractive about males: attractive face, strong arms/shoulders… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 03:37 AM
CMV:Women are responsible for most slut shamingHow many women do you know? Are your female friends intelligent people? I think slut shaming is more of an intelligence issue than a sex issue. I've seen stereotypical men and stereotypical women (both in my family) do it. The people who I've seen not to slut shame, both male and female, are the people I chose to be my friends. I don't think one sex or the other is guilty, it's more what kind of person you are. | 0 | What would it take for men to value commitment on the same level women do?Well, if you're consider the Redpill as if it was a legitimate strategy, you're probably retarded. Therefore, I'm not surprised that the facebook friends of a...more slow individual also speak to what idiots think. Men and women are not separate species, the people in my life who consider them as such are fucking imbeciles. So, If you are giving creedence to the shit you see on facebook from your "friends" you're just probably stupid, sorry. No help there. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/15 03:15 AM
Women of PPD, do you feel the same "I would fuck that" sensation that men do?Dude, women are not a separate species. Yes, there are women, including myself, that evaluate every goddamn thing they see in terms of fuckability. I've always done this, even when it made me uncomfortable or felt gross, I always mentally assess how fuckable someone physically is. Probably, most people do that but are too ashamed to admit it. | 7 | Should we "diversify" female oriented fields?Yes, why not? The only problem with introducing more males into more female-dominated fields seems to be societal prejudice. Once we can get over that, whatever job you want you can go for, no matter how you born. Women seem to be making more headway, at least publicly, than men, because it's more "news worthy" that there's a woman police chief etc., but I feel like the same strides are being made for men, they're just not as celebrated. | 5 | Are members of TRP also people with a 'victim mentality' they seemingly despise?Well, I'm not where you're from but I know from experience certain places have better looking people generally. I get your frustration and I want you to feel better. All I'm getting at is that there are plenty of people, male and female, who would be considered "unattractive" by normal standards, and would have a hard time getting a casual partner. | 3 | Are members of TRP also people with a 'victim mentality' they seemingly despise?I have come to the conclusion they are the boys/men who are feeling the burn of what objectification is all about. Because we have this omnipresent mass media and because we live in a relatively progressive society there's now a similar pressure on men to be attractive, which hasn't been there before. They're the guys getting left behind because women see all the eye candy and options now. And they're mad as shit about it. It'll probably be a forgotten phenomenon in a decade or two. Those that, in your description, are not free of facial deformities or who have atypical body types - dude, those women have been feeling the burn of mass media you are describing for, well, since art has been a thing. There are plenty of women who consider themselves unattractive (whether for internal reasons, or because they have "facial deformities") - not every woman is comfortable caking themselves in makeup and hair… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 05/09/15 02:48 AM
Are women really that deceptive in their tastes?you agree with the RP because women like hot men? Are you sure it's not something more internal? It seems like redpillers are guys who realized women can have a typical physical preferences, much like women who were outraged upon discovering the mass appeal of pornography to men. They were taken aback, and felt "victimized" by it and tried to outlaw it. Men who subscribe to the redpill strike me as the same sort of insecure shrill harpies. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 05/09/15 02:35 AM

But seriously, seriously now...try to imagine if you were born as a girl. And you happened to be physically unappealing. Can you try to imagine the sort pressure that would you put under? | 3 | Are members of TRP also people with a 'victim mentality' they seemingly despise? It would be entirely disingenuous to try to claim the RP is not solely based on a victim mentality. They couch their "worldview" in the facade of "self improvement," but taking into account their context, even that rings hollow. The whole premise is based on the fact they are receiving the short end of the societal stick, being males, and have to "overcome" the burdensome standards put upon them - to cater to and placate "females" who only want to ride the cock carousel and get a cuck to look af… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 05/09/15 02:19 AM |

And that men must strive to overcome this? What would you call someone who has to strive to overcome societal oppression? Many people would call that a sort of a victim. | 2 | To non Red Pillers, do you believe that evolutionary logic is a sound basis for examining how humans choose partners? Not saying it does, but finding out is a lot harder than pop evo psych claims, that is all I am pointing out. Our higher ability for abstract reasoning is not the only thing that makes our brain the most complex system we are currently aware of - many mysteries remain: consciousness, sleep, placebo/nocebo effects, subconscious, etc. If we don't even know what the hell consciousness is, why would it be so easy to categorize our social behavior? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/06/14 04:37 PM |

To non Red Pillers, do you believe that evolutionary logic is a sound basis for examining how humans choose partners?Like DocileBanalBovine said, I didn't make that assertion. I'm pointing out that certain disciplines of thought are only meaningful with large data sets, and rapidly break down the smaller the sample is. In this sense, evo psych is academically interesting, but has a long way to go before it makes sense to live your life by it, or interact with the world according to it, which I think is what RedPillers espouse. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 07/06/14 05:35 PM
| 8 | To non Red Pillers, do you believe that evolutionary logic is a sound basis for examining how humans choose partners? That's all well and good, but applying these things to human beings is where the failures begin.
