Yep, these are things I love to do with my husband if a grandparent can babysit our kid for an hour or so and we don't have time for a full date. Maybe even bring the kid for some of them (most of them??)

How is that a test. If anyone near me is having a medical emergency, I would help them. I would probably hand them toilet paper and assume they want the dignity of wiping their own ass. But i'd certainly drag them to bed or whatever, doesn't need to be someone I love.

There's also classes at hospitals for dads/couples.

Yeah I agree with this. Sure, Big should change, but the show isn't about him, it's about Carrie, and she is the one that needs to dump and forget about him. My compassion for this fictional character can only go so far..

I think the point is to set your boundaries and not get attached before they do. If you want to have sex with someone to find out if you're compatible, be mindful of whether they are at that same level of commitment as you are before going for it. Personally, my rule would be (was, not single now) that the other person is not dating anyone else/puts dating apps on hold before sex. otherwise I'd assume they are looking for a hookup or "shopping around". It's still early enough that you could brea…

This is probably naive, but I think you can still try to have high expectations for a partner. Is staying single an option? Supporting yourself financially? Work towards whatever independence you can afford, so that you can reject people who are not HV.

I personally would give friends the benefit of the doubt for social media stuff - but it definitely depends on how they normally use it. For example for myself I only use Facebook for particular groups, like for workout groups, and keep it very closed. I don't use it to talk to close friends at all. I've also muted some people that post a lot of political stuff, even if I agree with them. But you know your friends best, so if it's weird for her to remove you (and if she just removed you for some…

I think this is a great way to put it. Don't lower your standards, but do reexamine if there is something you think is an attractive trait (like the rollercoaster of excitement) that is actually toxic.

Is the issue that she deleted you from her Facebook? Or is there more to it? I didn't really understand from your story the issues besides the 'jealousy' comment, and her and your other friend ignoring you at the party.

Yeah my work persona is super boring. My hobbies as far as my boss is concerned are mostly "bike rides with my husband and son." Which he knows because I had to take a day off to take my kid to the dentist when he fell off a bike once. I think I also mentioned some crafts once. There is plenty to talk about related to work and career plans. Or discussing work related news or articles. I talk about my actual hobbies and life with coworkers I'm becoming friends with, or with actual friends.

"have my dinner ready" kills me. Makes me picture her cooking his own meal for him like for a toddler.

My 3 year old comes right away to get me to help clean if he accidentally misses the toilet.. I was thinking in a year or two he could clean up by himself too. What in the world.

I never felt comfortable going on dates with multiple people. Chatting, talking on OLD etc is different, but if I was more excited to go on a new in person date than to see someone again after a few dates, thats a sign to break it off. And he should be feeling the same. I would expect that if you are going on multiple dates (like past 3 dates) with someone he isn't also hooking up someone else during that time. On his side I think after a few dates he should express some sort of desire to see yo…

I have a friend who prefers male ob/gyns, but most prefer women. I think that if there is an area where there is no choice for patients as to which doctor, it needs to be a woman in the gyn role. Otherwise both are fine.

Like the others said, I don't think you need to explain if there isn't a plan in place. You sound like you have decided against this date, but not the guy. Maybe he will come back with a scheduled date on a different day and apologize for todat. I think in the vetting stage, you should be thinking more of looking to see whether he fits the things you expect, not guiding him to what you need him to do.

I'd say you and him are not a good match appearance wise. This level of difference won't just go away. How he dresses is something he can easily control, and choose not to. You put A LOT of effort into your appearance, so of course you want to date someone who cares similarly about his own.

I think stuff like "what was your longest relationship? Why did it end?" should be fine to ask pretty early on. Then see if he's being cagey or weird about it. That should be a good clue for some of the other questions too.

I think it's possible, maybe a guy who was a bit overweight when he was younger, then got into working out and is serious about being healthy. Or just someone into the more 'strength/power' based sports (not a marathon runner). I can think of at least one like this in my friend group. I don't think it's body shaming at all.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
