Still a thing in NH. Adultery that is; not just infidelity.

I’ve used a similar “I realized it was getting too crowded for me in my relationship” response.

These stories can be so similar it’s like their archetypes to be defined for future reference. Your story is just like mine: the classic emotional affair between married coworkers where the spouse rewrites history to claim how bad it was, makes it your fault for their lack of commitment and/or communication, and is upset there are consequences for being a shitty person. In my case my older kids, my former in-laws, mutual friends all found out, as well as work, partially through her own stupid ac…

I believe our ex-wives might actually be each others twin flames - as a similar blow up of two families, and it's scandalous with our children in the same school together, they were on a school board together, and the subsequent losing of friends, family, etc. and then wondering why it is so hard for us to "just be friends" because we "grew apart". Hang in there. I’m on the final stretch in a similar situation of separation in place with kids. She’s finally got a lease signed and will be out in the next several weeks. One day at a time.

You’re not alone! Any of you. I can’t say enough how grateful I am to hear all the other experiences. Sticking to core values is how I’m trying to stay on track, even when the loneliness hits. That, and hit the gym hard.

This. All of this. When it happens like a light switch just went off, there is a reason. Speaking from experience.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
