Of course he was with another woman. He was too polite to be checking his phone. You’d do exactly the same if you were with another guy. Please keep seeing other people until you both agree to be exclusive.

He absolutely can say that you are beautiful and still not have feelings. Take it from someone who just ended a four-month string-along with a guy who did those exact things. He was seeing multiple people concurrently and would have continued indefinitely had I not insisted on being exclusive and him not being able to accept.

Read Not Your Mother’s Rules - the audiobook is just about four hours long when you speed it up. It says you should tell him “Guess I’m an old fashioned girl, but I don’t just date forever. I expect commitment.” Ie being exclusive, and eventually more if that’s what you want.
