We have synonyms for everything with subtle differences for various contexts. Why do we not have multiple words for rape? People believed the chick when she claimed he raped her because, in their eyes, it would be more harmful if he had done it and they didn't believe her than if he hadn't and they did. 15	Why does texting a girl who has been jerking you around, "F*ck off, go away" make them chase you? Because people generally want people to like them, so when someone who previously liked them is now demonstrating that they, in fact, no longer like them or are at least neutral the natural tendency is to try to "fix it." They then tend to get needy as a sort of "is it ok now? How about now? Do you like me now? Show me you like me so I can feel better."
