5 Days in A Row Schedule Every Other Week. Think able to have my cake for Dinner.Yup. Super simple. I have this same schedule too. I understand she gets one more week night, but it is sooo simple. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/25 09:47 PM
My son’s mother is trying to ruin me.I’m pulling for you man. It’s crazy that some people can hate their spouse more than they love their kid, but it happens, and I’m sorry it happened to you. And as your kid grows up they will see how you always put them first no matter what, and that will matter to them. Good luck! | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/25 05:44 AM
Twice now I have tried to put space between me and my ex, and twice now I have failedI don’t know that you are getting any bad advice, and my situation was quite different. My ex fled the country with my son and tried to prevent all contact with him, even by Skype, so I started out extremely angry, but had to keep all my communications constructive. I did this by re-framing our interactions as interactions between two professionals. You can have a coworker you you pretty much hate, but still work with them without that much conflict if you know how to stay professional. You don’… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/24 02:59 PM
Divorcing Wife VocabularyMine refused to let me have Skype calls with my son because she couldn’t keep where she was secret from me if we had Skype calls while trying to get sole custody (she was at her parents house, duh) and now claims that it was never her intention to keep my son from me. People can have a strangely selective memory about their past behavior. She also regularly invents clauses for herself that she claims are in our joint custody agreement when she gets mad at me that her garden isn’t growing well. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/07/23 12:12 AM
She’s playing the systemNo, that if you have to move cities to be with your kid you may have to quit your job and get a new one. If you are in a specialized industry this can be a big income hit. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/12/22 08:46 AM
She’s playing the systemGet a good lawyer and record everything. Even though she is being vile I recommend against saying anything negative towards her. Don’t tell her how her decisions are affecting you. Hopefully you will be able to get the kids back to you, but if not be prepared to change jobs/where you live. Kids will still love you if you have to live in a double wide and work at a warehouse. Even though she is being vindictive now, it is possible she will start behaving better later, especially if she loses in c… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/12/22 08:27 AM
Anyone want to buddy up for divorce support? It totally is. And even if it is hard setting up a healthy coparenting relationship it is actually pretty nice to have once it is there. It is probably less important as kids get older, but when they are young I feel like it is a good idea to make sure rules are as similar as possible between houses, and you need communication to make that possible. I’m not saying that you have to do what your ex does just because she does it, but if you have a different rule it is nice to be able to explain why… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/12/22 12:01 PM
Anyone want to buddy up for divorce support? If you have kids in the divorce I highly encourage you to refrain from ever saying a cross word or oblique criticism of your ex, as they are stuck in your life for a long time and can make arrangements with your kids a nightmare. If they are angry with you they could find ways to not give you your kids on your time, and you can never know what they are saying about you behind your back. I dealt with it by immediately regarding our relationship as a professional relationship. Like you might absol… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/12/22 09:59 AM
Question to those fathers whose under 14 years old daughter / son had chosen mother (ex-wife) over you - did they ever returned to you?Sometimes people need one sided relationships. I have a one sided relationship with my therapist. We never talk about him, we’re always talking about me. You could have a one sided relationship with an Alzheimer’s patient. I don’t want a one sided relationship with my son, but a one sided relationship is better than no relationship. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/04/22 06:43 AM
Is there something wrong with me?I'm pretty traumatized by the bad sex we had at the end of our marriage. It felt like I was always being graded on my performance and failing. Nothing was about empathy or bonding. So I'm really turned off by the idea of sleeping around, that would just be more of the bad sex I had in the marriage without the feed back. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/10/19 04:58 PM
