I think I'd see your point if it weren't for the context. This was a comedy show. All of the above could just be a joke. I just don't think it's reasonable to take it so seriously for that reason, particularly when comedy uses hyperbole and outright fabrications frequently.

Just to drive my point home, in one of Bill Burr's specials, he mentions "wife beating" and the audience grows silent. That's when he (probably correctly) acknowledges that the audience does not find this funny and is taking things seriously.
