The want to understand men while firmly believing that men are privileged and can't have it worse than them. Like they will pester you into opening up because they believe it's their duty and then when you do they dismiss your feelings,see you as lesser and sometimes even use it against you. Happened to me before and I have heard of it happening to others too

This relies on the fact that those who spread inequality are in the minority in which case they can be isolated, but When there are huge groups that receive little to no backlash doing it in the name of feminism then that isn't exactly possible. Besides you don't speak for all feminists and I don't speak for all MRA's, It's not like me seeing feminism in a more positive light would suddenly change everything and they will start fighting for both men and women

I'm from India and I don't really like feminism here, to be fair with feminists we really aren't at the same level as other countries when it comes to equality and women definitely face a lot of problems. But it isn't even close to being considered egalitarian, They fight for women alone and a lot of them would love to take away basic rights from men. You are right, thanks for the response. I should have taken a better look at it. Indian legal system is definitely bad for everyone, it needs a lot of improvement. While I doubt that teaching in schools to respect women is going to make any difference, I am not against it either.

Killing the oppressive mindset and rapist mentality was one part of the letter, the solution given to that in the letter is that women could commit one murder with no consequences. Self defence is different from murder and it should still be decided by a court. Maybe she had the best of intentions and thought that all women are angels and would never abuse the right to murder someone unless it is for self defense but that doesn't make it better. An Indian feminist and politician( ig her being a feminist could be argued against) recently asked our president to give the right for women to murder one man with no consequences. This was pretty extreme and most feminists probably don't think this way but a lot of them seem to be against the right of men to be innocent until proven guilty and just expect the govt to punish without proof and based solely on the word of a woman.

I don't think it's biological, atleast I hope not because if it is taught then there is some hope for change. As far as I can remember it wasn't this bad before the pandemic, now women look you straight in the eye and say that they hate men and get confused if you speak against that.

I think I should have been more clear about the understanding part, If someone is afraid of men we should try to change their mind and be empathetic but when there are huge groups of people who make it seem reasonable and normal to fear men we do need to sometimes raise our voice and make it clear that they are in the wrong. Basically treat them the same way we would racists or any other group that is hateful

I'm confused,first you claim that it's a society that prefers men(or atleast that's what I think you meant, I am not exactly sure), then you talk about how it affects both men and women in the same way doesn't that mean that it isn't better for men and in the end you claim that you live in an old patriarchy so it is basically the same for both of you, if it is the same then why not just say scotland doesn't have a patriarchy anymore.

So I live in India where men get lesser protection from legal system. I am not just talking about a biased court system, which is also something that we have. In India it isn't a crime to rape or sexually assault anyone who isn't a woman or minor.

I guess I didn't make my point very clear. A lot of people think that it is only rape if you are penetrated and tbh I rlly don't care what it is called as long as they have equal punishment for both. But in India our law says that men can't be sexually assaulted either

Just a tip, don't claim that in India rape law isn't gender neutral, because it's easy to argue that rape requires penetration. A better argument would be how men can't be sexually assaulted in India unless they are a minor

Do you mind elaborating a bit? If it is about not having to pay child support if you didn't want to have a child,then I agree with you. But it shouldn't be about forcing a women to go through with pregnancy or forcing her to get an abortion.
