Plus about 50% of the population has cheated on a partner at least once Holy Christ, where did you get this statistic? Is it limited to where you live? If so, where is that so I can make sure never to go to a place filled with people that have such disregard for others.

To be fair, it is relevant. Imagine yourself as a judge trying to sentence someone with a long history of violent offending versus someone who's never done anything like this before. The one with the long history is definitely going away for longer because they're proven to be a much greater danger and seem a lot less likely to ever reform. What she's done is utterly appalling, but it's only right her criminal history be taken into account when sentencing.

I can confirm this is true in the UK. 'Fine' is not the exact word I would use as you'd probably be arrested, but you wouldn't be convicted.

Thank you for the advice, but I don't think that's necessary. I know what I SHOULD be doing, it's just that I wasn't doing so before this year. I have lost a lot of weight since I started, so I'm happy things are going well. It was just that comment coming at the right time in a moment of weakness.

Treat food like fuel instead of a reward. I am trying to lose weight at the moment and just came back from a run. I bought myself some cookies as a reward. Possibly - I can see why you'd say that. I suppose it comes down to whether she offers to pay half the bill at the end of the meal. If she's clearly a freeloader, she can get a taxi. If she pays her way she's probably genuine. Either way, her simply suggesting meeting up at the airport is way too early to decide you are being scammed and report her. A basic minimum level of trust is required when netting any new person otherwise why bother trying to date at all?

Plan's starting to get pretty specific. Hoping they will require the overflow car park and then knowing which car is theirs. Unless they suddenly change the meeting place to 'at this remote, empty of people car park' in which case that's what sets alarm bells ringing. If the plan is just to rob people at overflow car parks, then why bother with the date scam at all? Not only are you identifying yourself as a possible suspect, but your 'date' will probably have less cash on them than holiday make…

Well of course I'd trust my friends over a stranger every day of the week. But I still don't see how "I'd prefer to meet in a public place" immediately leads to "I'm reporting you for planning to rob me". I feel like there's either a lot more to the story or he was massively overreacting. Would you seriously report someone for requesting a public meeting? Wouldn't there be easier/safer ways to rob/pickpocket someone with lower chance of being caught?
