This is so true. I started getting grey hairs when I lived with somebody very difficult (platonic). When they left, I noticed that all those little grey hairs were gone. Also, I just happened to catch an episode of Undercover Boss when I was watching TV with my ex. There was a 25 year old woman who literally looked 40 and I wondered aloud whether they misspoke about her age. My ex, with a sort of twisted grin he used to get when he found a new opportunity to devalue me said, “That’s what a good,…

So I know a woman who asked her husband for cleaning equipment as gifts on birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Cleaning equipment should not be a present. If you need a vacuum, that’s just a normal purchase. A present should be a sign of appreciation and a celebration of you. Its a time to let you know that you’re special. It’s a treat and a luxury, not essential items. Some women still think that putting themselves last is heroic. What they don’t realise is what a toxic example they are giving both …

Exactly. Saying “no” does not make a woman a bitch. It makes her autonomous. If a person is not allowed to say no, they are not a free being. For example, if I asked a child to give me a hug and they said no, I wouldn’t consider them a bitch. So why would a woman be?

I know it’s become unfashionable to blame parents for their children’s issues but the fact that the mother and her friend have heard this story for 2 YEARS and their only instinct is to see what the daughter can do to fix the relationship (that’s now at least 3 grown women being this loser’s emotional guardian) says everything about why pickmeisha culture is running rife at the moment.

I have two stories in relation this one. One is about another woman and one is my own. When I was in high school (all girls), we had a group called Positive Women visit us. They are HIV+ female volunteers who go to schools to describe how they contracted the virus and what their life is like now. One woman explained to us that she was sheltered, conservative and religious. She never partied and prided herself on being a loyal wife and mother. Many years into her marriage, she suspected her husba…

Not only does he not love her, he basically hates her.

After experiencing a relationship with a careless man, there is nothing that disgusts me more. I was put in so many dangerous situations because of his thoughtlessness. I’m deeply grateful that I was able to survive my naive days relatively physical unscathed. Now, first and foremost, I’m looking for a conscientious man. Someone who will never play fast and loose with my or his children’s lives.

Imagine the child’s first experience being their father choosing the Super Bowl over them.

You’re right. It is painful to face reality but it’s infinitely more painful giving one’s life over to a LVM in the hopes that he’ll turn into a fairytale prince.

He also strikes me as a man who doesn’t take his hygiene seriously

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
