Re: Leaving the toilet seat up: I must disagree. No matter what gender you are, if you've ever sat on a toilet when the seat is up, because you were tired, not paying attention, thoughts elsewhere, then you'll understand why this double standard exists. Wiping pee droplets off of a toilet seat is a lot less distressing than getting a wet ass full of toilet water and jarringly cold porcelain.

Anecdotal, but I have a friend who had it done as an adult purely for aesthetic reasons, and after the pain (which he said wasn't that bad) went away he reported increased sensitivity and better sex. If I wrote the laws I'd make it so the person falsely reporting rape does the same amount of jail time as if it actually happened, and then register as a sex offender when they get out, and everything else that comes with it.

The slut label isn't in question as much as the "shame" part. Where you come from are guy and girl sluts both shamed equally? In my experience promiscuous men aren't shamed for it, but they aren't exactly lauded for it either. I had a slutty male friend in college and he was a walking STD petri dish. There isn't a need to excuse it. There are a lot of cultural traditions, some are mundane, some are weird, and some are indeed horrible like honor killings. You just happen to group circumcision in the horrible category, and I group it in the weird category. I don't think weird traditions need excusing. You see it as some egregious human rights violation. Me, being the supposed "victim" here, sees it as negligible.

It hasn't been a detriment to my life. I've suffered no emotional distress over it. I've suffered no sexual drawbacks or dysfunctions from it. I haven't experienced any of the negatives that I always hear about. And if I could somehow magically bring my foreskin back, I don't know if I would. I probably wouldn't; I like it just fine this way. So I, at least personally, don't have a reason to oppose it.
