This is a good synopsis. I would also like to add that fantasy thinking to that degree is a sign of trauma and mental illness.

It comes in waves. I got obsessive over it back in 2023 when I became a radical Conservative (I no longer identify this way). I could write a whole novel as how this happened and how it’s going now, but I’ll spare you ugh. How are you doing?

You are exactly like me. I could have written this exact post. OCD included with the compulsive researching. It’s debilitating and I feel for you so much.

Just please don’t go down the RP pipeline, especially if you are potentially dealing with OCD. They truly are a cult and they take advantage of vulnerable individuals for personal gain.

The way you’re talking sounds so much like OCD. Like you get reassurance and then your brain latches onto a new “what if” scenario to solve. It never ends. As an OCD sufferer, it can feel debilitating. I would really look into it. Also, you’re allowed to find a partner that you feel is more aligned to you, but just know that if this is OCD , your brain will always find a new problem to latch onto, no matter the person, place, or thing. Speaking from personal experience here. The relief comes fro…

This sounds like OCD and retroactive jealousy. But please understand I am not a psychological professional, I can only suggest potential avenues to explore to hopefully find relief. I know therapy is expensive (not sure if you’re American), but I’d really recommend going that route if you can. There’s no shame in it.

yes great advice. YT is what initially brainwashed me first too and then certain subreddits poured fuel onto the fire. The only thing that helped was cleaning my YT up (I subscribed to light hearted content and alternate opinions) then deleted my old Reddit account. I was able to de program pretty fast after that.

It was a culmination of things: I was raised in, and am still currently surrounded by, a very Catholic-Conservative environment / family in the US Deep South. This was the prerequisite that made me open to consuming it. I was in an unhealthy relationship with a controlling man who displayed cluster B personality traits. In my efforts to try and save my relationship, I went down the RP pipeline. (didn’t work btw) I have a deep seated fear of loneliness and abandonment, and I battle low self-estee…

OP, I want to direct you to a comment I made in here on another post a while back. Also, when I was originally making that comment, I totally forgot to add another woman I know into the mix. She is a C suite executive and the primary breadwinner for her family. Her husband became terminally ill and she continued to care for him up until his death (and care for their child). Her husband sadly died, but she still wears her wedding rings over a year later after his death. Women absolutely do have t…

as a young woman, it really scares and disturbs me too. like the constant criticism and surveillance. It fills me with existential dread tbh and it’s why I joined this sub, trying to find hope and detox myself

Hey OP, the way you’re talking seems similar to individuals with fearful avoidant or dismissive avoidant attachment styles. Especially when you said, “…make me feel secure enough” in an earlier comment. This reads as hallmark avoidant to me. You should check out resources for avoidant attachments and perhaps test to see what your attachment style is. Also, I know therapy is expensive (not sure if you’re American), but I would speak with a therapist about this if you’re in position to do so. You …

I really think it will get better eventually. Because even if we don’t find partners, as long as you are a good person and giving back to humanity, that’s a life well lived. You gotta check out the avoidant attachment styles and Heidi Priebe on YouTube. It’s a kindhearted, compassionate, and constructive community seeking earnest change—it’s none of that cluster B, red pill BS :’)

Yes fair enough, nothing wrong with riding your own wave, especially if you’re trying to do earnest inner work

I feel you :( I understand the wanting to be indefinitely single part, too. I won’t go into too much detail about my red pill journey, but I was also brainwashed by that poisonous content back in ~2023. I am still working to deprogram myself. I just hope everyday that there are good people in the world that hold loving families together. And if I can’t ever have a family of my own, then I’ll just be alone and contribute to humanity, so to speak, like through research or something, idk. You shoul…

Same here honestly but from the female POV feeling wary of men. It sucks living like this.

I don’t mean to resurrect an old comment, but I just wanted you to know that your comment means a lot to me and I come back and read it a lot when I feel down. I really respect you for this and your mindset.

Thanks for your kind words and insight. And yes, definitely make it appoint to take care of yourself and heal any toxic shame. You sound like you’re on a really good track.

I have fault too. It’s like that Morgan Wallen/Post Malone song. Around the time he was consumed by RP, I also was brainwashed by it. I used to be a big Candace Owen’s fan (not anymore). I got into the RP, because I wanted to be the perfect wife and to keep him. I think it just made a super toxic dynamic for the both of us, tbh. Fuck the RP. Edit: I also want to add that I really enjoy your perspective. I want to view the world through this lens.

I really think I just need to leave him alone. I’ve been emotionally throwing up all over this Reddit account, tbh. I don’t want to make things harder than they already are.

Hey, OP. Just wanna say I relate to you. I am in the same position. I also did the exact same compulsion of googling male celebs with younger* women. It’s rough out here lol. Make sure to develop some self esteem, as you can become vulnerable to evil people without good boundaries. Best wishes to you.

I feel like I tried for the last year but I think that desire for power is too strong. I have to let him go, but I do hope the best for him.

Thanks for your insight. I’m so glad you’re doing well now. I actually consumed RP content myself, too. Looking back, I felt my SO slipping away and I desperately wanted to please him. I could get into this, but it would be a novel. What I’ve typed here doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. I agree with you: when you go out into the real world, there are different people of all variety. I try to focus on this myself.

Thank you for your well wishes. I feel so crushed, but I’ve been trying to be proactive about my recovery.
