The problem with this theory is that it ignores the fact that we can find many different types of people attractive, not just a certain look or type of person. Even if you bought into women finding the same small percentage of men attractive, it doesn't mean they only find those men attractive, it means that's where the overlap is. Like men, women can find attractiveness in different things, not just the top 5% or whatever.

This. I'm high libido but this could absolutely kill it for me. Sex should be something fun and a bonding activity, not something I do as a duty.

Lots of things limit your options. Being alone is better than settling.

Like a lot of women I went through some bad relationships, and eventually came to realize being on my own was better than being unhappy with someone else. I spent some time alone working on myself, and as my self-esteem improved realized I was worth more than what I had been settling for previously. When I decided to start dating again, I was much more intentional with the qualities I was looking for in a partner.

When the person is bringing above average money to the table, they have every right to seek the same.

See, and I prefer to rule out guys who would ask if I have a cat o' nine tail on a first date before I waste my time in person. My time is very valuable to me, I don't want to waste it on every guy who asks in the first day of chatting.

I wouldn't date a guy who couldn't cook, do laundry or keep a clean place. It's so baseline that bar is on the floor. It's basic adulting.

When I was on OLD I wouldn't talk to anyone without the intention of it going somewhere, but to know if it should go somewhere, you have to actually have conversations. You know how guys here are constantly saying choose better? You can't do that without vetting properly, something I see guys place very little emphasis on. Men will often try to get you to agree to a date just a few messages in. How would you even know you wanted to go on a date with me without asking me anything? I could have ju…

You can't help people with their insecurities, that's something they have to work out between themselves and a professional if they can't tackle it on their own. The desire to help other people through their traumas stems from codependency and is a problem on its own that should be addressed. We can play a supportive role, but that's the best we can do, and it should never be to our own detriment.

Pretty much this answer exactly. Bad home life meant daddy issues, anxious attachment and a lot of general emotional issues that took years to work out.

I say this not to be mean, but because the question is being asked. Lose weight. Lose the neckbeard. Work out your emotional issues before entering the dating pool.

Right? I gave my guy gifts yesterday but Steak & BJ Day is still a holiday on my calendar and will be celebrated. Choose better, guys 🤷‍♀️

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
